Multiformat Logicals are AAaaaargh!!!! I havent seen one in the wild for a long time, but I remember them as a kind of JOIN logical file, but using the LF record format allows you to use records from multiple physical files by using just one logical file but accessing the specific format in your RPG program. I hated them ;)
I agree. Certainly all *new* db development should be taking avantage of DDL.... but... from my personal expérience I would say 90%+ of IBM-i sites are using DDS.
