The syn-clavier, Linn drum machine, Yamaha DX... Ahhh, the sounds of the 80s. Love this. Sounds like the first Elecktric band album. Just need Scott Henderson on guitar. What a great video. Hearing Chick play Giants Steps, awesome!
DX really did shape 80s music even though Roland company develop good synths, Yamaha was most successful in developing the FM synthesizers and still today many are using FM and purchasing old DX7s. LOL. Im one of those people. FULLTINES baby!!
Fantastic!!! Chick Corea is one of a few of the WORLDS Greatest living breathing Musicians. And music lovers with be talking about him 100, 200, 300 years from now. He is that good!
One of the most incredible heartful technique players there is alongside Oscar. :-) Perhaps one of the most incredible session bass players as well. Actually the Drummer and rhythm section is incredible. It's so important to be able to communicate in the language of music. Often that means being able to read it (at least partially) and to write it as fast as you can imagine it. Awesome to see such professionals at work. It reminds me of my parents. Brian Joseph Johns
23:25 Seems like Chick uses that time signature a lot. Referring to the Sorceress song though, it was probably used the best. It also resonates with Al DI Meola. In an interview where he kept saying "You know what I mean?" he actually points out to go along with the beats of the drums and uses that time signature as a key example as if he uses it a lot in his music.
Nah... it's been only a few years ago I got the DVD. It's still $39 at Colony in NYC. I just haven't adopted touch screen interface devices yet, and I haven't adopted downloading music either, I am old, and I still by CD's and DVD's.
yuck. Corea is a BRILLIANT pianist --- creative, with excellent touch and feel. This whole electric band period --- what can I say, I just can't dig it.
