Here is a Viennese fortepiano by Joachim Ehlers from 1815. This very elaborate piano with a painting on the pinblock and beautiful bronzes was made during the Viennese Congress. It has five register pedals: Una-corda, bassoon, damper lifting, moderator and janissary (drum and bells).
Thé piano for Beethoven and Schubert.
Riko Fukuda plays Franz Schubert : 12 Valses Nobles D969. op. 77 and fragment from Zwei charakteristische Märsche D 968b op. 121 no. 1.
Edwin Beunk is an internationally acclaimed restorer and collector of early pianos. In the course of time it transpired that a new world opened up for many when they came to view the collection, amateur players, students, and professionals alike, even for some world famous pianists. Therefore Edwin Beunk decided to create a number of documentary films about the history of the early piano, in collaboration with filmmaker Patrick Drijver and pianist Riko Fukuda.
