Mark Kenedy Rocas, flute
Gabriel Allan Paguirigan, piano
Set to perform on stage is flutist Mark Kenedy Rocas, a graduate of the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music, pursuing his master's at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. Rocas is dedicated to sharing innovative ideas and knowledge in flute playing and general music-making with his fellow musicians. His ongoing studies and opportunities in music and chamber performance are crucial steps toward his dream of becoming a conduit for new mastery, awareness, and appreciation of the arts.
Rocas, a first prize winner of the NAMCYA Woodwind Category 2017, has represented the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in music festivals abroad, including the ASEAN Music Festival in Vietnam and Abu Dhabi in 2022. He has been a regular guest soloist with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in its Young People's Concert held at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater and NAMCYA's Gintong Pamana at the Metropolitan Theater.
Accompanying him is pianist Gabriel Allan Ferros Paguirigan, one of the country’s premier pianists. Paguirigan is a Grand Prize winner of the NAMCYA, PTGP Piano Competition and the first and only Filipino to win the prestigious 2018 Princess Galyani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition in Bangkok.
