Piazzolla Plays Michelangelo 70 

This piece was written in 1970 in honor of the nightclub Michelangelo which was in the San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. Piazzolla and his Quintet played there regularly. It was first recorded in 1984 on the LP, "Live in Colonia 1984" issued in France on the Intuition International label. This video was recorded with his Quintet in 1985 at Shams, a club located at Federico Lacroze 2121 in the Belgrano suburb of Buenos Aires. Piazzolla reportedly held "public rehearsals" at Shams during this period.
