I picked #3. I'm a writer in the process of editing my first novel right before I self publish it. Considering it's not a normal job, or even a job at all at the moment, and I'm suffering a mental illness and therefore not working, I get quite down on myself a lot. It's because there's really no concrete outcome, no concrete salary, and one doesn't know anything will come of self-publishing a novel at all. This past week has been one of cutting off and setting boundaries for friends that were not aligned with my highest truths and damn does it feel good to put boundaries up. In the end they made the decision for me when they crossed lines that can never be uncrossed. It’s like my energy isn’t being called away and wasted on people who weren’t worth the time.
