Today we've got a great 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp to share with you all, a new addition to the shop and a great little piece of gear! These are the beginning of the real deal Fender amps of the time, adding both tremolo and reverb to a very portable little 1x10 combo. This one is running a Jensen C10N speaker and sounds fantastic as you'll hear when Trevor plugs in his Pin-up Stratocaster built by none other than Eric Daw!

Love it. I just built a clone of this and I swear it even sounds better. Went all out on caps, tubes, etc. Dead quiet and sounds insanely amazing.

Man, they put a 12” speaker in mine and I live near Fender. I’m going to go to R&D dept there and express, politely, my purchase of a FENDER TWEED PRINCTON REVERB. The 12” Cannabis Rex speaker doesnt belong in a Princeton, and at 15W it WILL and CAN NOT overdrive itself! WTF? Most of the Fender Amps, you cant turn above 3-5 w/o it overdriving and giving you natural distortion. mine’s not a Fender Princeton,its a diaper filler. (TO ME) as I do NOT play 100% clean Jazz. I can turn it up to TEN and get no edge. Doesnt sound FENDER! Thomas Adams 11:11® Registered TM of 11:11 Music.

@@mirage-tomadams1originalne37 I put 50w 12's in all my Princeton builds and I definitely get dirt before noon. In fact, I build 40w versions with 2x12 and still get a good amount of dirt before noon. Most crunch is going to come from the amp, not the speaker itself. I'd check the phase inverter tube and see if it's a 12ax7 or a 12at7. 12at7 would give the whole amp a bunch more clean headroom. 12ax7 will give more crunch. If you, for some reason, really like the sound of cone cry, you could replace the speaker with a lower watt 12". A 25w Weber 12f150 should give you some natural speaker breakup.

Hi I have a fender Princeton 1966 also its an amazing amps.. barely have 3 months with it..I ended up moving here in Tijuana and met this old guy across the street and told me he had a amp from fender in hes garage thats super old that he didn't use and wanted to sell it..so I was like "can I see it??"..and he took it out and had a black plastic bag over it and he removed and there it was a fender Princeton 1966 totally stock!!..so we tried it out and man worked perfectly..I asked him how much he wanted and he told "what do u want to offer me? I do need the money"...so then I'm like $1,500 pesos (mexican money) which is like $65 dollars and he said man thats a lot but yeah sounds good hahha..man for $65!!!!!! A fender Princeton 1966 totally stock!!!! 😅

I turned a Princeton Amp into an 18 Watt Marshall. No reverb. Changed the preamp into something Quite Awesome. Gosh I sure do love something in a club that can hold its own in a real Jam!

the little princeton sounds so different to other fenders...way less top end and more emphasis on the upper mids which i love. deluxes were way too chimey for my tastes.

I have a 67' PR stock that sounds really great, but if someone offered me a Vintage BF Deluxe Reverb in the same condition, I would swap in a NY minute.
