Minute 3:07 Scammell Sampson with a Detroit 8V 71 Engine, this picture took at their Sheffield Yard on Brightside Lane. Worked on the truck a few times whilst based at this yard with Pickfords. Remember doing a clutch on it 1975, had to lift the rear end of the truck really high to get the gearbox out from under the truck to be able to get to the clutch & replace it.

Wynns had nothing to do with pickfords and they were both in competition with each another. Wynns took other wekin heavy haulage then in early 1980s wynns and sunters bros joined forces under the baner United transport. Later becoming ECONOFREIGHT and later ale heavy haulage. And pickfords never had nothing to do with these companies i this helps with a little bit of history
