Also I personally love the Hummels rumour, he was instrumental for us in the CL last season and would boost Brighton’s defence with some experience. I’m not too convinced with Webster. Really exciting looking Brighton squad this year if they don’t loan too many of their youth out!
Nketiah so overlooked, top scorer at youth levels and has always done well for arsenal in super limited game time, as a starting striker for a mid table team he would be fantastic
why? Because we're not spending 100 mil on every signing? Sometimes depth is just as important. Samu is a different profile and a projection not supposed to come in and score 20 goals...
@@ChiSouthit’s cause you guys sign anyone with a pulse. There’s depth and then there’s having 45 first team members. You have to admit it’s reasonable to see how many are confused by the recruitment.
@@ytyuify I think people forget (rightly or wrongly) that a lot of these players are not intended to be first team players, their main intention is to flip for profit. Now I don't personally love the idea of messing with a young players future just to flip for quick 10-20m profit, but I believe that is at least the owners/directors plan. Remember that at least in the short term, for the owners, the club doesnt have to make a profit year on year, it mostly has to make a profit on the book value each financial year to offset the spend. Then likely in 7 years time, continued global reach, improved marketability, commercial reach, build bigger stadium, then they transfer the debt and sell the club for a greater value than they bought it for just due naturally to market inflation.
@@granth1238such an American view which simply doesn’t work in football especially with the increase in restrictions that are coming year on year because of teams working around PSR. In US sports it works because recruitment is so different. An implosion is happening in Chelsea in the next few years and it could be very very dangerous for the club
I think Samu is fine for Chelsea, selling Broja and Lukaku, plus Fofana loaned out means we have a bit of space there. He offers something different to Jackson and more akin to Drogba/Costa type striker that Chelsea are used to. I would personally keep Giui around as the 3rd option, Jackson also can play out wide as a back up winger too as he did often last season when we were chasing games so he may sometimes have both Jackson and Samu playing. I think overall most of these are correct although I would say all the ones in confused are probably just mid.
As a Chelsea fan,i was not very optimistic about Samu when we were first linked to him since Atletico were holding out for nearly 70 million euros, but I don't think 35m is too bad,he seems to be very highly rated by Atletico fans, and I'm absolutely fine with us going into next season with Jackson starting and Guiu and Samu splitting the back up minutes, having 3 strikers means we fan avoid the situation we had last year where Jackson had to start every single game getting no rest
@@joethomlinson_ Maybe a La Liga loan, but I'd prefer him staying as 3rd choice striker,he'd still get plenty of minutes in the cups and conference league
As an Arsenal fan I’d be delighted with Viktor Gyorkeres. We need someone who can hold the ball in the final third to give those couple of seconds to allow for the rest of the team to push up. There’s often too much hype on players who’ve been in elite academies their entire careers, but give me Giroud over Bojan any day!
I'm surprised how everyone seems to have forgotten zubimendi was linked for ages with arsenal/Barcelona and supposedly he didn't wanna leave Spain. Not saying the Liverpool deal won't happen but this literally happened before
You can probably count on one hand the amount of times Chris Wood & Taiwo Awoniyi have both been available for games, one of them always seems to be injured! We cant take the risk of only having 1 fit striker throughout the season again, so a new number 9 absolutely has to be a priority!
As a City fan I don’t want Neto we have enough wingers and have more pressing issues with depth at both hold mid and 9 with Alvarez leaving if we want a like for like replacement for Alvarez I think either cuhna or Joao Pedro would fit perfectly but both would cost upwards of 45m which I don’t think would be a smart price for someone with that limited game time
I completely disagree on the Nketiah opinion, for a side like Bournemouth that dont dominate possession & are looking to counterpress to create their chances or even hit on the break vs bigger teams Eddie could be a great addition.
Interesting to hear that, mate. I really think he's a good player - I just worry about him being the Solanke replacement. He would need to perform IMMEDIATELY to a level of 15+
@@joethomlinson_ Last season it was 3atb with Richards at LCB and Clyne at RCB, but Riad will slot in at LCB and Richards will likely move to RCB if we don't bring in someone tested at this level
Scott Mctominay played 3 games at striker position in the academy because of injuries… He was quite short and was a 10 or 8 player. I thought you as a Man United fan would know this !?
Kalvin Philips has actually been really good in pre season at CB got a MOTM and has been decent there, it’s a shame that it’s not worked for him at city but there’s still a player in him, hopefully Everton take a chance on him
Liverpool getting Zubimendi could be great deal if they can get him below release cause fee - doubt the likelihood of that with Merino going too Having Zubimendi will release Trent to another level, in comparison to how Endo could've done that role
Skye reported that Chelsea have around 40 players. How on earth can a new manager work with a squad that big and they still seem to be wanting to buy even more players? Amazing.
Big up JT. Question. Do you really think that Solanke is the answer for Spurs? Is he THAT big of a step up on Richarlison? Considering the price, you would think that he is!
Yeah he's definitely a step up on Richy imo. Surprised at the negative reaction from Spurs fans. It's hard to find a striker of his level with PL experience.
I could see it working. Arteta seems to be looking for different tools in the box for tactical flexibility. Can agree to disagree as in isolation I see what you mean
Hearing someone talk about mctominay as a 10 or striker just cause he scores decent goal numbers is a dead giveaway they don’t watch football, Gabriel scores a load of goals for arsenal should they Chuck him on the wing?
Neto would be consistent with rotation, he is overplayed at wolves which is what causes the issue, but he shouldn't go to city, arsenal would be perfect for him
I don't think we have been linked to Chalobah lmao - Also doesn't make sense, good player but Chelsea massively over pricing him and sure we could find better for half the price. Linked to Beelen & Carmo mainly.
@@joethomlinson_ I've only seen him priced at £30m, and given Chelsea's history of over pricing players they're trying to force out for some reason that doesn't suprise me. £20m would be a good deal
@@joethomlinson_ Yh but we can't go into next season with only 2 strikers (Nkunku is completely wasted up front and shouldn't play up front at all next season). If Guiu was to pick up an injury,it would mean Jackson has to start the pl games on weekends, and then on Thursday start in the conference league too, having Jackson,Guiu and Samu means we'd be a lot better prepared for all 4 competitions next season
@@sthfw tbf none have proven they're good or haven't gotten the chance to do so, and an unpopular opinion i know, but I think we should give up on Armando Broja already
@@sthfw Lukaku, Fofana, Broja will likely all be sold. That only leaves Jackson (who might need to spend time at LW cos Sterling and Mudryk are crap), and Guiu who has played like 30minutes of top flight football.
Carvalho is for sale, for the right price. he has had a brilliant pre-season, he oblitereated Arsenal and man utd and yet no one wants to pay what Liverpool ask for him, strange. Zubimendi looks very exciting. if he is who Edwards and Slot and Huges want, I'm all for the idea. As for Scott, if you can cheat West Ham out of 30 million, you made a coup, considering they bid 30 a year ago and man utd said no. he's a obvious "Confused move" do you expect AWB to be sold now that he is injured? even for 18 million, it's a risk I think, especially for club with not much money to spend.
Feels like a big fee, but so does every striker. He's been a fanastic operator at City, so I can see him being a big success in Madrid because of that doggedness.
@@joethomlinson_ I can just see him at a higher level than Newcastle and unsure if they offer THAT much more than the progression Palace showed last season (Obviously they could now regress and make me look stupid😂)
Chelsea potentially spending 50M but not wanting to spend 70M on Osimhen is baffling to me? Gotta save that 20M for a random South American 13 year old Todd? I get the wage differences but you’re sending lukaku the other way to offset that cost as well and, no shade to Omorodion, Osimhen is just so many leagues better than he is? And fits what Chelsea need better than he does as well? Baffling to me lmao
It's 35m, not 50m and Osimhen was more gonna be 80-90m plus Lukaku, not to mention Samu wages will be around 50k p/w, compared with Osimhens, 300k+ p/w. That is an extra 10m or more per season in wages, maybe worth it if he hits but he's had one good season in his career. Even with the outlier season that was 22/23, he's only averaged 15 league goals per season over last 5 years and that is in Ligue 1 and Serie A and he's 26 y/o. Jackson missed a lot of chances, but he just hit 14 league goals at 22 in his first full season as a striker, first season as a starter and in the PL. There is even a decent argument for Jackson offering more in link up, hold up, dribbling, off the ball than Osimhen, just obviously not anywhere near as good a finisher. Osimhen also has really bad injury history and with how bad Chelsea's medical department seemingly is, I would put money on him rarely being healthy, especially with the physicality of the PL.
Berger is awful. im sorry but scott mctominay has better stats. Its the fact man u have taken 5 weeks to try get a cdm from PSG when they want one of our players and havent managed to do it. Now 3 days away from the season opener they have one player bought who is fit. Then add on the lack of outgoings and overpaying for zirkzee and Yoro and its looking poor from what people were saying was a positive start. Same with De Light and Mazrouii desperatley needed but not over the line with a week before the prem.
Zubimendi is not leaving spain. He has rejected Arsenal and Bayern already and is probably waiting for Alonso to leave leverkusen and join Real Madrid in the future.
Not in agreement here. There is a player in there I'm convinced. He's struggled recently at Barca and Atletico, but sometimes club's of that size can swallow you up. Villa would be a coup & Emery would be a brilliant coach to re-build that career.
@@joethomlinson_ There's a player there somewhere i agree but I dont think its worth the hassle. They need young players on an upward trajectory in their career. Spending big money and wages on him then not making the CL again being stuck with him isn't worth it.
@@joethomlinson_ I agree people are writing off championship players too easily generally, but there’s a big difference between going to a mid table club (Alex Scott to Bournemouth for example) and jumping up to what is required at United. There’s a reason no other big club wants him because he generally isn’t at that level and there’s nothing wrong with that, let’s not gaslight people into thinking he is
Which Bournemouth fan suggested Eddie Nketiah 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Flipping heck. Come on lads we are better than that. Would have prefered you talk about Fran Garcia. Seems like a decent chance of getting him on loan from Madrid and we need another LB
Julian Alvarez is an Atletico Madrid player, I am sure you knew this by the time you uploaded this. Furthermore, examining stats and putting them on the screen does not make you knowledgeable about football. You have to watch the games big dawg. Julian Alvarez being an “exceptional” one on one dribbler is laughable.
Harsh on Nketiah. More than capable of scoring 15 league goals given a starting spot and £25m given thelack of strikers out there isnt a bad deal at all
I agree on Nketiah (with the video). He played for a dominant side with and couldn`t score many goals and if you watch the games he clearly is not of the level as the rest. Bad link up play, not clinical and overestimates himself which lets him take shots from angles and distances where he can`t score or try to take on players which he can`t ... I think he can be the striker for a club like Palace e.g. but he won`t score more than 10goals
