Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the two favorites have little chance of winning. In their case, there are simply too many things that can go wrong. If I had to choose five horses, I think they would be Domestic Product, Just Steel, Mystik Dan, Catching Freedom and Society Man. Apart from that, I keep my fingers crossed for Stronghold because of his jockey. I'm from Poland, and Antonio Fresu won the most important Polish race ten years ago on the fabulous filly Greek Sphere. Finally, I will tell you a little interesting fact. In the 1930s, Jim the spaniel correctly predicted seven winners of the Run for the Roses in a row. Last year, my cat chose Mage in a similar way. Mage won. This year, my cat chose Catching Freedom.
Duuuuude, same on Fierceness. He’s just gonna have to beat me because I don’t trust him not to throw in a dud. I’ve always been a big believer in Oaklawn preps holding up well at Churchill, so Just Steel is looking like good value right now. Forever Young is the best Japanese horse yet, imo. Sierra Leon is the biggest fish in a small pond. I think he can do it but the traffic in the stretch scares me lol.
My picks are Catching Freedom, Honor Marie and Sierra Leone but I can see Catalytic hitting the board, nice long shot to round out your tris and supers. Also really like Forever Young I think he’s got a good chance of bringing home a derby win for Japan.
