In today’s video I pick up a 5 gallon Central Pneumatic air tank from Harbor Freight along with some other tools that will help me with the upcoming project builds.
I just went to Harbor Fright (pun intended) today, to pick up a trailer light harness kit. I remember the first time I went to HF, back in the early 90s (in SoCal), the closest one was 45 miles away from where I lived. Now they're like Starbucks, one on every corner. They've improved mucho since then.
I did the same by adding a 1/2 tee, which allows me to run 1/2 out of the tank. Great for testing train horns as they require 1/2 airflow for good operation.
Still got a flux core welder, but ended up buying the small Eastwood Mig for sheet metal work. It came with the gauge and hose, ready to go except a tank and a cart(got one off ebay pretty cheap). It's a small welder but is working out real nice for all those Michigan rust repairs. And it only cost around 300 bucks or so when I got it. Cart was about 70.
I got the flux/mig 140 Titanium from Harbor Freight and it works good but I need to get a bottle but the flux has been working fine and I don’t mind some clean up
No drain plug to get the moisture out is a deal breaker for me. That’s a simple a needed feature to keep them from rusting out from the inside out. And an eventual safety hazard. I do but from HF from time to time. But I have a rule, I never buy anything that has a battery or has to be plugged in. 100% of their electric and battery powered items and complete garbage. And now days they only warranty it for 90 days unless you wanna pay 2-3 hundred more. It’s total BS that they have welders and compressors for sale 5-6 hundred bucks but can’t back it more than 90days.
