What a transformation Doodle; from a self confessed nervous rider to a confident rider of all styles and sizes hitting the twisties. Much respect. I live on the west coast of Canada and will be 'doing the dragon' in August so am interested in your take on it. Kindest of regards. 🇨🇦
Your upcoming trip on the Tiger Sport 660 sounds wonderful on two counts -- the machine, and the destinations. Every Triumph I've ridden are super smooth and fine rides. I hope you find this one the same. Be safe!
Thanks Doodle, as usual you are so inspiring. I have a Goldwing and a VStrom 650. I like them both, and I have really come to enjoy the seating position of the VStrom and it’s weight. Have a great trip!
Dear Doodle, I wish you the very very best and safe ride for the upcoming road trip. I have been following you since your first road trip on HD Glide. Just want to appreciate you for the efforts you put in making these videos. Also you seem to be more relatable and down to earth compared to a lot of other channels.. Wishing you the very best again. From a fellow Harley Rider from India. !!!
I rode an 800 Tiger, it was very nice. I had to get used to the height but it was no problem. Torquey, smooth engine that was also happy to rev. Hard to beat Triumphs.
First off, I think it’s great how you are pushing the limits of what people believe you are supposed to be able to do. You make a great example for me to point at when my daughters (3 of them) say they can’t, or are convinced it’s not something a smaller woman could do. (One is 5’ 3”, one 5’ even). Thank you for being a positive example for women, as well as a positive example to make men understand the limits on women are purely mental and mostly placed (unfairly) on you all by men. Okay, with all that out of the way. I had a suggestion for you to try out. After riding the big Harleys, perhaps you may want to try a couple of the Japanese baggers? I currently have a 2018 Yamaha Star Venture TC. It weighs a little more than the ones you rode already, at 963 pounds, but the center of balance is so low you would never realize it. The engine runs smooth and has plenty of power. The features are fantastic. I think you may enjoy it. Of course, ride what you like to be on. Keep on exploring and expanding your experience. After riding on the road for over 35 years my advice to anyone who wants to ride is to get on every bike of every type and every brand that you can manage then ride what you enjoy. Only you can tell you what is the best bike or type of bike for you. Ride safe. Hope to see you out on the road if you ever make it through Texas.
I can suggest or recommend dekalb county Alabama & Chattanooga Tennessee has a lot of great riding around here.& not so packed with so much traffic.marshal county & Jackson county also have great places to ride.you can google if you’re interested.
You definitely need to hit Wheels Through Time and Tail of the Dragon, there are great places to stay at like the Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort, Bryson City has some nice and reasonable places too. Having been a few times, I'd recommend going in Sept, perfect weather and just enough out of season to be less busy!
Have fun. Ride safe. You have taken more classes than some riders will in 50 years of riding. You know your limits and abilities. Thanks for sharing with us.
Ignore the little men, watching your series on the big baggers and such has given Kj way more confidence to ride on her own. She was out recently and dropped it when parking on a hill, but she came home beaming and happy. Having seen you lift the GS she engaged the same technique without a thought and righted it straight away. Thank you for your videos they give us all helpful tips. Cheers 🍻
Hopefully you don't take the haters seriously. They have no idea what they are talking about and you prove them wrong every time. You and Yammie got me into Triumph and bought my first one last year (speed twin) last year and I freaking love it! I'm so jealous that you get a hook up at Triumph and Harley.
Raise your hand 🙋♀️ if you agree with me that doodle is the most amazing inspiring motorcycle girl ever! I love these videos. Everyone needs to watch how Doodle conquers the motorcycle sport, and shares the motorcycle hobby with the masses. 🥰
Hey, Doods! Love the Tiger even though I'm a Harley guy. Excited for your road trip - we did the Tail on the way to our rental cabin... we were in a pickup towing a trailer with the bikes in it. So, technically, I've done the Tail with my Road Glide. LOL! Cherohala is an awesome ride! I can't believe how beautiful the roads are in NC - just be sure to give up the center line on the sharp corners because you'll definitely meet traffic. We didn't hit Wheels Through Time, but can't wait to see your take on it.
Thank you for for doing these videos .... These videos are one of the things that inspired me to star riding again after not riding for 18 years ...... You rock .....
That's a really good looking scoot. It's awesome that they're finally making small displacement touring bikes. Also, I've never understood the gatekeeper mentality a lot of so called bikers have. Motorcycles are fun. Don't take things so serious. The more people sharing the motorcycle experience, the better it is for all riders.
I've been waiting for years for manufacturers to make rivals to my '08 Vstrom 650. I LOVE it, but I'd love some other options (and Vstroms just keep getting uglier). Everyone is producing crazy, $20,000 hardcore ADV bikes or, now, little 3-400cc beginner ADV bikes. What I want-and what many other people must want-are more middleweight all-rounders. I don't need to cross the Mongolian step. I just want an upright touring bike that can do a lot for under $10K. One of the reasons that I love the Vstrom is the 19" front. It's sporty enough, yet modestly off- road-capable. That's the sweet spot for me. But, this looks like a great machine (despite the fact that it's 100% road-oriented).
Awesome. I think you will like the ADV bike more then the HD tourers. You will probably find that a larger engine for everyday functional use would better fit your needs. The larger engine and a frame with the nominal weight compared to a HD will provide a more comfortable ride. Theres nothing as comfortable as a touring frame bike.
@@joedangelo5640 no, the other way around. I was advising a bit bigger bike too like the 8-900 version if she wishes to travel. Nothing like my RK for comfort
last year, i took a road trip with a buddy of mine from akron ohio, down through kentucky to nashville then into north carolina, riding the mountains was awesome, and spent the night in maggie valley, got to see the museum, and meet matt walksler. it was prolly my favorite vacation ive ever been on. you wont be disappointed!
Well, I read through the comments and see that there are some other Dads that feel the same way I do... I have 3 daughters and I just wanted to say thank you, and I am proud of you @Doodle ...! You are setting a great example. And not just for women/girls, but for all of us! Keep it up the good work. Cheers & ride safe!
Your loving the dream so many of us bike riders would want to live. But don’t have the commitment you have. You are an inspiration to so many. Keep the great footage coming. Ride safe.
I like your channel. From starting ride and trying so many different bikes. I'm glad you show women ( and doubting men) that no matter your size you can handle a machine of any size.
When I park on a cambered street like that, I always swing around and back in. Less chance of the kickstand folding, and easy to exit. And I leave space for another bike.
Very nice bike, for a very special lady. I think you should not listen to bashers and drive the bike you like. You outperform them I’m shure. You give me energy with your optimism, keep on going girl 👍👍👍👍
That’s going to be a great trip. Impressive bike. I had not considered a Triumph until now. Your enthusiasm and perspective on riding is refreshing for the old and new rider alike. With your videos I might have a chance at convincing my wife to take up riding. Thanks for all you do! D.Black
Love your work..I use your videos to help my wife continue to grow in confidence about her own riding (she rides a Triumph Bobber and I’m on a T120), and that she can handle baggers as well. We are in our 50’s and first time riders for the last year. You were the first female rider I saw and immediately started sharing your videos with my wife. You’re doing great….tune out the noise and know that the quite majority love your work and you are benefiting many people even though you don’t always know it!
I cannot wait to see your video for the Tail of The Dragon! I'm hoping to go this year myself. That Tiger looks like a lot of fun and i'm so glad you'll get to experience it. Be safe and have a blast!
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the open road on two wheels. The Smokies are most beautiful in the fall but any time is a good time. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great relaxing ride, both south to north up through Virginia and back. We didn't make it last fall for the first time in a decade. Sadness ☹️...God Bless and keep the rubber side down.
Would love your thoughts on Honda’s DCT bikes. 🤔 Considering the Rebel 1100 for seat height and power (fellow shortie; 5’2” with 28” inseam). Your videos have definitely inspired me to look at bigger bikes…
I love your content. You have been an inspiration. Thank you. Im getting a big bike. After being away from them for over 20 years. Im getting on a street bike.
Classic Doodle, How long you been riding ,uh, couple a days, and dude looks at bike again LOL. I liked also when you went to Triumph and walked in... on the big screen said Welcome Doodle on a Motorcycle !
Cherohala Skyway is in my top 5 favorite roads. Enjoy. It gets cold near the top so bring a heavy sweatshirt. When we rode it was 85 degrees at Deal’s Gap, and 65 on the top of the Skyway. Make sure to take some time at some of the overlooks. The views are awe inspiring and made me feel very small in this world. Live your life! Do not let anyone tell you “No” or “can’t”.
Don’t worry about the naysayers your making great strides. Very impressed with your rides and videos. You will love the Dragon, my wife and I went last year.
You will have a blast on the Dragon! Have fun!!! The museum was closed when I went through there Labor Day 2020. Blue Ridge Parkway is also a nice scenic ride there.
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA It’s been a tough few months. I’ve been in the Hospital pretty much since November 19 **not Cancer related** Successful Gallbladder and Gallstones removal. But been dealing with Heart and Blood Pressure issues and various infections. I was home for about 12-16 on March 13 to March 14 then was brought back to the Hospital.
Just found your channel and very excited to see your road trip on the tiger 660, will have to go back and watch some of these bagger trips. As a 220 lb guy who has been riding a 2014 Ninja 300 2 up with my quite tall wife for 7+ years I hear you on people telling you what bike you "should" be on, who's a starter and a squid and whatever. If you can fit, you fit, if you can swing a leg over on tippy toes you can handle it if that's what you wanna do. No one should be telling anyone what's right for them unless in the most supportive and caring sense. Not micro aggressing others asking how long they ride and telling them to be safe out there not know what their experience is. Love a mid review tea and snack stop, great video
I think you will absolutely LOVE the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia! I’m on the Va/Carolina border, and this time of year is PERFECT for road trip! The Smokies, Blue Ridge Parkway, Meadows of Dan, all those ‘twisties’. Be safe and have a blast!
Your AWESOME!!!! & I guarantee you ride way more than those DIng Dongs!!! Your definitely an inspiration to go on some new adventures!!! Thank you for the great content and hope to see you on the road some day 🤙🏽
Being a shorter rider myself and riding a Goldwing, I have to plan ahead on where and how I park. I am lucky at least the Wing has a reverse. Just park it backing in. Be safe, have fun. Blue Boy,
morning Doodle it's been awhile : ( just getting ready to go to work hopefully you're keeping well & riding even more safely love you're new bike will write a more detailed post later this weekend love n friendship always Ritchie xx xx
When I was 15 in Texas I was riding my dad's Honda 750 ..... The bike was way to big for me ..... I survived ..... You go girl ..... I think you will be OK because you have skills and the right attitude ....... 😊 😊 😊
It’s funny watching now knowing you went with the 900 tiger, I read these comments and see how well they aged. I’m watching this because I’m seriously considering triumph right now and ADV is the category I’m cross shopping.
Hey Doodle I love Triumphs and I’m 67 on a very quick Speed Twin. People say I’m crazy but we only live once. Well done on the Tiger live your life as you wish the trolls are jus jealous! Take care and greetings from Australia
I love that color as indicated by my logo:) I have a similar style touring bike that I bought for moto-camping and trips. It serves that purpose very well. I also use it to get groceries and general shopping. I can fit > 4 bags of groceries between the bags and topcase. These bikes make fantastic 2nd bikes to go along with a sport bike for pure fun. As such I would definitely recommend considering one to go along with but not in place of your other Triumph.
Wow such a beautiful beast.. I envy you for this.. I wish I could ride on this kinda beast. It looks really great for adventure ride. I know you were excited and over joyed...👌👍🤘
