We can't believe that picking up hitchhikers led to this! We met Igor Filippov, a Russian artist living in Kjøllefjord Norway, and he opened his gallery for us. His hospitality and generosity were amazing and definitely an unexpected experience. Vanlife in Norway keeps getting better and better.

I don't know where to begin... You started from Skaidi. I have memories from that place. In 2013 we were on route from Nordkapp to Alta. In Honningsvåg I saw that we had almost 3/4 full tank of diesel and I decided that I will take more from Oldefjord. When we arrived there, the only diesel pump of that village was broken. Then we just had to turn towards Alta. We didn't know those hoods at all and didn't know where the next station would be or if there were any. The fuel meter began to go lower and lower... I was a little worried if we can make it to Alta. But then, in Skaidi after a curve we saw a Statoil! I filled our tank and was not unhappy at all that it was the most expensive diesel I had ever bought, almost 1,90€/l. In fact that stayed the most expensive diesel my fueling history until 2022. I just said several days ago somewhere that I would never want to live there on the arctic, but I LOVE to watch those views and I want to drive there again and again. You went really to the edge of Europe. There near to Slettnes I noticed similar rock formations like near Hamningberg, but of course geologically it's very near. That was very cool that you met that artist Igor! That kind of moments in life are what you will remember forever.

Yeah that diesel place in Skaidi is apparently very well known. We didn't go there but a lot of people eat there too. We loved the views from up north, and the whole north of Norway is incredibly pretty with new views everywhere you go. I think we will miss it when we leave.
