@@RockBrigadeCommunityForum not really we have knee capped our industry because a lot of fellow Canadians don’t care where their products come from. Canada has too many brands and too few manufacturers these days.
Well Chris that is gonna be sweet, you've earned it man, you work everyday, long hours an you do good work, if you put the work in to what you want in life, anything is possible, because right here is a hell of a story that is coming true in front of us, AMI makes a sweet ass product, thanks for sharing Chris,
@@blacksheep9734 I dread to think what the price is in the states for one, but to me it's a long term investment,it's 360 degree versatility opens up many opportunities for other work
@@stuartandrews4344 yeah I would have invested in with the other thing. I started running a cat 426 with the double lift cylinders that had a wain roy setup. 25 years ago.. lol I used to do alot of grading work. I was a cheaper alternative to a grade all.. lol when it made sense of course and a few times it didnt.. lol
Chris, you need to convince John to get that setup for the company's machines, because as stated in another comment it would make pond building and dredging jobs easier.
You have no idea how happy it made me that you got fittings with SAE (BOSS) ports and not NPT. It drives me nuts that people use NPT in hydraulic applications.
Very handy buckets I've used them a few times on a 210 komatso brilliant for doing batters on banks, you won't want to take it off 😂😂 greetings from Scotland
Been watching you for some time now and can't believe how long it's taken you to buy a hitch nevermind a tilty bucket!! An absolute game changer. You'll probably find you'll never take it off, only for hard digging or using the thumb. My biggest hate is hooking the pipes on and off.
Wow what a custom machine and setup....fantastic workmanship on the bucket and your skills Chris.....this is my favorite channel by far for the last almost two years
You won't regret the tilt bucket... I had one with a motor which stayed on the machine and u just changed out buckets to the motor which allowed use of the thumb with the tilt and with both buckets...I loved it..!!
Chris...I've been watching you for a little while now, and I'm compelled to say that you are one of the smoothest Operators I've ever seen. now, that may not sound like a big deal, but I'm 73 years young, and been a Logger-Mechnic-Operator all my life...and when I say I've seen ALL kinds, thats a heap. I've also run hydraulic machines myself, and guys, He's REALLY good...Smooth, calm and unruffled, and that's what it takes....good job Kid....congrats on the new riggin'...have fun along the way....:)
@@kevins5092, I have no idea why I said I never heard that before, because Chris says it all the time. Thanks for correcting me and that comment is gone right...NOW !!
That is awesome! You defiantly love what you do so I can say you dig it! Really enjoy your videos and content. Thanks for posting. You need one of throws that works this the thumb.
I've been watching the Swede, Hedblom, and his RU-vid channel for the last couple of months. He has a tilt/rotation type bucket on his little excavator and it's freaking amazing what he can do with it! I'm going to enjoy your future vids when you get a chance to use this new beauty!
Around here almost all excavators from 3.5 to 35tons have a tiltrotator. Only small machines 1-2,5tons use tilt only. Why is there such a big difference between Sweden/EU and US with regard to this? Work to be done is the same. Efficiency gains are the same.
Yeah, Hedblom uses that like a 3rd arm! And then also DirtNinja in New Hampsire was first excavator I saw using those tilt-rotation buckets. But not on something like 220 series. That think looks... awkward.
@@BosseTub yea I'm no machine operator but I have been noticing this also, its strange. I guess it might be a the price and risk of more breakdowns but like you say even tilt seems uncommon in US.
It's not a "tilt/rotation type bucket". The tiltrotator is an attachment on it's own attached on the stick - meaning; it's has nothing to do with the bucket. But on/or under the tiltrotator you can attach a long range of different type of buckets and other tools; Grading bucket (most common used), Cable bucket, A VA-bucket (that's a bucket for sewer pipe graves, profile bucket, Grading beam, pallet forks, A brush to clean up a work site. With Engcon EC-Oil (= Oil connections are automaticly attached to the tool, the oil goes through the tiltrotator in a swivel - no hydraulic hoses to attach manually) you can attach hydraulic operated tools with ease like a rotating brush, hydraulic pallet forks, crapple for stones or timber trunks.. The list could go on for ever..... Check up 'Duckgirl86' here on YT to see a skilled girl using a varity of equipment with an tiltrotator. Just one of her clips: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-htFVNfeJiRs.html
Go with rototilt or indexator, here in sweden the customer usually demands it for the jobs, however they do pay a small fee extra for it. But the advantage is that you can also use your old buckets, the disadvantage is that if your about to use heavy force to get a big rock etc (unless you digging around it) up, you may end up breaking it and need a repair, so then we usually end up removing the tool before using heavy force.
Congratulations Chris! I was expecting the bucket to turn on its side like the mini. Then you mentioned later it moves at a 45 degrees. Very nice, can’t wait to see the finished project around a pond! Thank you for sharing.
Ive watched him dredge and grade with a toothed digging bucket and allways thought Americans are stubborn as hell. Well here we are, he finally gets the proper equipment 🙂
@@letsdig18 Thought it might be set up that way, but put the suggestion out there anyway in case it didn't or someone else might stumble upon it and find it useful.
That is one heck of a little bucket. . . . think they make them a tad larger though? Really, one monster bucket there and wish ya all the fun you can have using it! Saw the notification and had to run over here to see what it was all about and Wow.
How Nice is that !! Man, I believe that's gonna be a game changer for ya Chris !I like how it's vented on the backsides of it, think that will help a lot when your in water, and real soupy mud and all .... I 'm Diggin' it man !! I know your real excited by the smile on your face !!! lololololol...Hell, I'm excited for ya myself !! Can't wait to see ya puting it to use ...Have a Great Evening !! On to the Next...
You might want to wrap those hoses in a protective coating and add two tensioner springs. But other than that I am a fan of your custom bucket designs and videos. All you need now is a rock hammer, a chipper, and a raking bucket to clean out pond growth.
Nature will try to return everything back the way it was. So over time man made ponds will start “filling in” and you either have do start cleaning out or watch them fill in.
Only two things missing... one the bucket needs to spin. Second need a tweezer, behind the bucket at mount, that can spin and tilt with the buck but when bucket off the spin tilt stays. Then can use the tweezers to pick up things. Like large rocks turn and place as needed ETC. A channel called, Headblom has his set up like that. He is almost as surgical with it! Check it out.
Congrats on new bucket. Over here in New Zealand most machines have tilt buckets on them lot more versatile. Need to weld some more rings on hitch to put hoses through so dont get hung up.
Now the real fun starts! lol. You could always stockpile that skid road debris at your place and get the screener in and screen out the debree and keep that sweet topsoil for yourself.
I'm willing to bet as you walked away towards your truck ... you looked back at that new bucket, didn't you? That is some kind of nice tool and resource for you excavator. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Okay....stupid question time!! "Do you have the same pulling power on an angle as you would straight?" Should make your grading of Ponds a whole lot easier!!😁
You wont know what happned when you go back running the other volvos with the digging buckets straight on the excavator😂😂 now you will have to get a rock breaker and grapple 😂
Chris I’m glad everything’s coming together for you with your new 220 I’m happy for you man but anyway you and John stay safe in yawls family and keep the videos coming
Chris, get them to make you a V Bucket for digging ditches. I saw another operator on YT using it to create water channels in the woods on a new road being cut in. The bucket is a beast and makes a nice dressing to the job site.
About time. You will find that you will use it more than the digging bucket. I use mine all the time. I never could understand why you didn't have one for digging ponds
That is a high quality bucket. Welding on both sides and I do like the cut outs to let water out. Where I work we only make a 60 inch bucket but not pivoting bucket. Not saying we don't make that style. I seen you had a ripper inside that one bucket. Would like to see a better shot of it sometime. We do weld those on our line. The casting like you have and also one with fittings and bushings
I picked up a Mongo tilt grading bucket for my TB235 this week. Got to try it out in the yard today. Leaves a nice finish. It will take some practice since its a bit different to operate.
I'm seeing a great sponsorship here. I hope! Chris has probably designed some other attachment's, that he wants to own. I'm sure if you had to buy, it'll pay for itself in no time.
You sure your loader is big enough to be able to pickup that bucket fully loaded, that thing is huge.i also see your trademark on it .looks good.😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
The only problem with having multiple buckets with you is you will have to remember to pin them down when leaving them on site other wise they may get legs and walk away . :-)
Nice bucket Chris. There should be flow control valves on the tilt cyl so you can slow down that bucket. You also can use your foot pedal and you can control the speed..
And the next thing you should consider, is to replace those manually operated valves with eletronically controlled one, so you can flip a switch in cabin to select either tilt or thumb function. I would imagine there will be several cases where you would like to use a thumb for a second while doing grading...
Not sure who was smiling more, Chris or Nelson. BTW, It's alright Nelson, a lot of us are vertically challenged. Congratulations guys. Love seeing y'all doing so well!
