I hope you really enjoy this video. This is one of my hearts desires to bring you good recipes, tried and true. I have used these all my life and I’m willing to share the recipes and the whole process with you. It is a joy to me.
This episode of picking mulberries ,growing in the wild,was a tremendous reminiscing for us,both,reminding of our growing up years! It was a wonderful expirience.
It seems like in the year 2024 there are more people going to making their own foods,getting away from much of the colorings and preservatives ,that plague us today. It’s a plus, for anyone out there, to take time at home to create and grow healthy food,and do your own cooking. We hope you will benefit from this. Please leave me a comment or like or share this video with your friends and family.
Hope everyone has a great Father’s Day weekend. If you still have a father, honor him; he is a replica of our Heavenly Father ,that cares for us.
Tell him you love him or give him a hug.
I miss my father so much, and i had to think of some of his ways ,that will always mark him as my father. He wasn’t afraid to try new adventures,and in other ways he was very systematic. But he was my father!
Thank you very much again for watching our videos. The jelly making with mulberries was a success, which means the jelly set up and was thick and spreadable.It means so much to us that we can be a benefit, to someone in this world and make a difference in someone’s life . Wishing you happiness as you work on a project in your kitchen. God bless you 🥰❤️🤗 ( Becky ) 🥰❤️🤗
Homemade Mulberry Jelly
5 cups mulberry juice
4 cups canesugar
1/4 cup lemon juice(to help set up the jelly)
1 box sure gel or pectin
Bring the juice to a hard rolling boil, add the pectin, and continue cooking until it’s again in a rolling boil. Boil for one minute exactly.
Now add the sugar, again bring it to a hard rolling boil and cook it for another minute. Ladel the hot syrupy jelly into clean jars, and use clean lids. Make sure the top of the jar is completely clean with no residue whatever! Turn the lids on tight,and turn them upside down on a towel for an hour or so. If the jelly does not set up right away,after a day, flip it right side up;don’t give up, but allow it to set at room temperature for two days.usually it will set up,if the recipe was followed correctly.
The reason for adding lemon juice, is because the mulberry fruit ,isn’t a very acidic berry,and a certain amount of acid is needed to thicken it along with the pectin. Also ,it’s usually not neccesary to cold pack the jelly ,if you can move fast, and get the lids on while the product is in the hottest stage. Thank you, and God Bless!
Hope you will like the video and will leave a comment if you like the information we came up with .
One way you can support our video is subscribing and liking and commenting on our videos . ( And just watching )
We hope and pray that God will give us years together as we both like to travel and tour, God‘s great earth, and would love to bring you along as we travel around the world .

Hello Sister Becky, I have not ever made any mullberry jelly but I have made blackberry and other fruit jellies and jams before. I have only seen a few mullberry trees in my area (north Florida). Homemade jelly and jam taste great. You did an excellent job explaining and demonstrating how someone would make it. I think Brother Gerold and your sons really liked the taste so this batch will not last very long. 😊 Enjoy all of your videos. 😊

Of course it is a lot of work living on a farm, but on the other hand what a wealth being able to live amidst nature in a certain way. Harvesting those fruits and more from your own soil. This is such a beautiful way, how you , as good stewards of the earth, 'use' your property. Think, that it pleases the Lord.! Think, that what grows close to your home, is the best food for you. It's so crazy that sometimes food has to fly around the world before it's on our plate. Hope, that the jelly tasted as good as it looked like. Greetings from the Netherlands🌷

@GeroldandBeckyMiller1965
@GeroldandBeckyMiller1965 Месяц назад
Glad you liked it!! Some of it was supposed to be fast forwarded!!! 😢live and learn, I guess! About the lids…I keep them in warm water to keep the lids and jelly as hot as possible, to encourage a greater chance of a good seal on the lid! That’s also why I turned the jars upside down, after skewing on the lids..so the hot jelly hits the lids , giving a better seal!! Hope this makes sense!!🤩❤️
@jacquelinepenso2104
@jacquelinepenso2104 Месяц назад
@GeroldandBeckyMiller1965 Yes, Becky, it makes sense. It's been so long since I made my own jam, but I don't remember leaving the lids in hot water until they were ready to use. Well I learned something new 😃 Even though the fast forward didn't work, the video wasn't boring at all. It will definitely work next time. Practice makes perfect 😉 ❤️

Pomonas brand of pectin is great for low sugar or no sugar recipes. I used only 1/4 cup of sugar for a large pot of fruit. It makes about 8 of the 8oz jars. So about 1&1/2 teaspoons of sugar per jar. It is so delicious with less or no sugar.

Why do you keep the jars upside down once you filled the bottles
@GeroldandBeckyMiller1965
@GeroldandBeckyMiller1965 Месяц назад
I put them upside down, to keep the heat of the jelly on the lid to help it seal for sure…see,because when the jars are right side up there’s a space , between the lid and the jar,and the heat isn’t on the lid!! Does this make sense?? Plus I don’t have to cover them with water, and cold pack them for 10 minutes!! Time saving..😊
