Curious why you both players don't switch sides after a point is scored? Also I have mobility issues so I can't ever play single but I can cover about 90% of half court. Been having fun playing my half vs an able bodied person play full court on the other side.
You stay on the odd or even side based on your score to make it easier to figure the score and mix up the angles so that both positions on each side potentially serve to both positions on the other side. In doubles pickleball you never serve straight on but I think that is an interesting lack of angles to have to navigate which works on your straight on attacks. This game is great for people with mobility issues and I applaud you for getting out there and having fun which is what the game is all about.
