I dig the A8 for sure, I've got a guitar with an A8 in the bridge and an A4 in the neck, both of them are kind of in the PAF range of output. The A8 made the bridge pickup beefier and meaner in all the right frequencies, and A4 works as a kind of nice neutral neck tone, not to bassy or bright. Cool video dude.
Thanks. The A8 is typically my preferred magnet choice as well. As for necks, I haven’t been a big fan of the A4, I lean a lot towards the A2 or A5. But I’m planing to do a Neck series using several for the neck swap as well.
A4 is trash. Alnico 8 is a bit muddy on the low end and harsh on the top without a boost. With a boost it’s probably my favorite though. The A5 no matter you do is a win. And the ceramic needs no boost in that tuning. Drop it down a step or step and a half and will be magic. Really want to hear that riff on the Huggin and Munnin with the dual ceramics and Alnico 8.
