In the Philippines, we boil ginger and drink the ginger tea for sore throat relief. Filipino marinade is simple: soy sauce, sugar, garlic, black pepper, ketchup and calamansi. Lemon could be use to replace calamansi.

‘BOODLE’ is a military jargon coined by US military academy cadets from the word BOUNTY (as in food). Cadets would smuggle food back to their dorms for midnight snack. Once discovered by fellow cadets they would ‘fight over’ the best treats. During the old days when US soldiers were with pilipinos in the ‘BOONDOCK’ (mountain) for survival training they would be treated by their Pilipino instructors to a ‘Free for all Picnic’ (of sardines over rice & fruits) laid down on banana leaves. This ‘pot luck fight’ of sort was adopted by the low land population to save on table cloths, paper plates, cutlery etc. ‘BOODLE FIGHT’ coined by US Military Cadets adopted by Pilipinos as a dining spread.

To give you the history of "Boodle Fight" in the Philippines 🇵🇭 This is a culture started by Filipino military soldiers. Foods are placed in a long table on Banana leaves and all would eat using their hands. Then it was applied in Philippine restaurants and beach resorts. FYI. 😊 Glad and happy to see you guys experienced it! BTW Andrey announced that they are going to the Philippines 🇵🇭 on August. How about you Olya? I see you’re enjoying the so called “boodle fight”. Don’t hesitate to change some things, you don’t need to use your hands for everything. For example, you can use serving spoon and fork for each food on the table. You can also use paper plates, so people can eat and enjoy the food better. it’s hard to enjoy food just using hands without plates. 😊 I myself has never experience boodle fight we don’t serving spoon and fork, and paper plates. It’s nice to see your family gatherings.😊

Good content today, Try a sauce with Soy sauce & lemon. Fry a fish and make some rice this is very good... you can put some of the sauce on the rice but mostly its for the fish, try it its so good. Is it true that Russians do not like vinegar?😁
Quick tip...Filipinos LOOOOOVe Dipping sauce. First, Soy sauce with either vinegar OR lemon juice plus garlic, black pepper sometimes...CHILLI PEPPER to make it spicy!!! 2nd sauce can be just plain vinegar with garlic, salt, black pepper and sugar. And since you folks love cucumber and tomatoes, you can dip them on this one.
With ginger... Try to cook our Philippine ginger tea called SALABAT for maam... Please search for the recipe, miss olya... It is good for digestive and circulatory system. You can replace sugar with honey...

Boodle fight is a separate tradition which involves eating with hands straight off the table wirh banana leaves.a tradition of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. originally practiced by Philippine Military Academy cadets,and drawn from similar tradition at rhe United States Military Academy West Point....
Andrey didn't explain it properly either to you or Mama Ira. Boodle fight is a tradition originating from the various branches of Philippine military (infantry army, marines, naval forces, and special forces scout rangers) and even in civilian-trained groups like coast guards, medics, university/college military training, and CAFGU or Civilian Armed Forces Geogrpaphical Unit, when they are training in barracks, or stationed in fields, mountains, and naval forward bases out at sea, and even during wartime. This boodle fight shows camaraderie sisterhood/brotherhood but at the same time competition on who gets to eat more (a feature that Mama Ira was able to include in her clarifying question to Andrey-- that it is literally a food fight because of limited food supply in barracks). This same tradition found its way in social circles and social gatherings of friends coworkers and family.
