I like to think that they both have influenced each other. While our Villan husband is, at least, showing a slightly more softer side. We, his partner, are showing hints of a darker side. Balancing each other out. Freaking love this. Cheif kiss

Interesting... He says he doesn't care, but he has made this whole outlook on power and corruption his life. And while he despises nobles for being cruel and unfeeling towards his mother, he sees no issue in perpetuating that cycle and playing a part in encouraging it to continue. Makes me wonder...

He threatens the chef's children over a picnic: *panik* We finally convince him to break the cycle of abuse towards the staff: *kalm* He tries to -shoot- strangle the messenger: *PANIK* He remembers what he promised us & channels his anger productively instead of destructively: *kalm* Man this character's development is rlly something! Hearing why he is the way he is was interesting 👀 & that surprise kiss, whoo! 😅🔥

See I wonder if eventually the listener goes so far to the dark side that the villain has to question what he's done, and what the consequences really are. I think at least part of what he likes about the listener is how innocent they are, even if he would claim otherwise. So to see the listener embrace villainy, would that change something for the villain? Its interesting to think about. Thanks for this series Nomad, I always enjoy the character interactions you craft.

I reeeeeally hope that the Listener is only going along with the plot to kill their dad because 1) they want to see what their dad says for himself and 2) they intend on merely stripping him of his powers and then either imprisoning him or exiling him rather than killing him to show their Villain husband that there's always a better way than killing people. I seriously facepalmed when he was talking about threatening the Chef's kids to make a picnic meal. Dude, if you threaten people like that for the small things, how are you going to get them to do big things for you? You save the overkill threats for when you REALLY need stuff, you can just ASK the chef and say it's for your spouse! Seriously adore this series, though! 5 star experience, would listen again!

I absolutely love the writing on this character. I could FEEL the betrayal after that announcement and I wanted reassurance from him and you delivered! Bravo. Also that "Yes, beloved?...As you wish." excuse me, Sir.

It’s interesting how he says he doesn’t care if it costs him the kingdom. His thirst for power is taking a backseat to his promise to care for the listener. Perhaps part of his “personal philosophy” is to take care of family first and foremost. His mom didn’t have his dad watching out for her, so he pledges to be different?

I love how the villain always keeps his word that just makes me trust him more, but I still can’t believe the listeners father use his own family just to get to him that’s just low.

he really acts like he doesn't care but he is so protective of us and even makes sure to tell us that he would never force us to do anything we don't want to. he also listens to us and you can hear the guilt in his voice when he realized he had scared us. i love this character and hope to see more of him in the future.

Isn't this a bit more ironic that he hates the nobles for threatening the staff and demeaning them, when he himself is doing the same thing? Darling, that's being hypocritical.

Hmm, will we see him given a name anytime soon? I love him a whole lot but uh - as our husband, it's a bit strange having him be referred to as just title... Though pet names might work in the long run. (Also, not me imagining his head in the listener's lap for most of this.) Vid Spoilers: I also kind of imagine the listener taking their own approach, as opposed to bringing fire and brimstone - more exposing their father for so easily giving them away. For allowing them to be harmed, being as we see the listener so kind to everyone.... I don't think the kingdom would be very happy at the prospect. The people would probably also see their husband in a different light if he was willing to burn down a city for their well-respected and loved monarch. Hence, their entering the throne seemed more just and people are likely to stand with them over their parents.

Ngl, things are really starting to add up now that...certain things have been revealed. Also, loving the fact that this Royal is still a bit morally grey despite their own moral standing. Since they could end up taking the throne soon, I wonder if they'll take more of an anti-hero approach to issues or if they'll eventually become more of an all around bastard themself. Also, let's not forget how this "Villain's" character has been developing. It's amazing to see how open he is with his affection too. Great job as always Nomad, I can't wait to see how this continues.

Such a refresher!! I see a lot of villains turn good over a short course and, while I am a sucker for villains becoming good guys I'll admit, I like this a lot. His opinions aren't easily swayed, his methods stay the same, he's what he says, a villain. This series has very quickly become a new favorite!
