I just received mine two days ago and I'm testing and comparing it with my old Pico4 and Quest3. The more I use it, the more I like it. Pass-through is better than with the Quest3, but just slightly. I had to quickly switch between the Quest3 and Ultra to see it. It's of course a lot better than with the old Pico4. Battery life is not so good. Strangely I don't get an indication when it is charging from a power adapter, but I see it when I use my battery pack. I like the controllers. The smaller size, but also the buttons. For example: if you use Virtual Desktop and want to go from your PC back to VD, you'll find the button on the left controller much easier than before: it is sticking out a bit.
@SjaakSchulteis if someone has the meta quest 3 already . do you suggest to add as upgrade or swap ? my primary focus is using for secondary screens with laptop or desktop .
Awesome review! Which one like more between the quest 3 or pico 4 ultra? And which has better audio for you? Do you think the pico 4 ultra could reach 120hz by a future update on the software? Thanks.
Thank you. I'd take this over the Quest 3 especially for the price. They won't be able to make it 120hz via software but maybe that will come with the next release
I own the Valve Index, Pico 4 and Quest 2 and Quest 3. The Pico 4 for me is the absolute best form factor, it's light and PERFECT. Is the Pico 4 ultra a significant improvement to lense quality and performance? Worth it to upgrade from the Quest 3? I only use PCVR.
I'm concerned that Pico is downsizing its VR division, so we can't expect much from software updates. I've already ordered the Pico 4 Ultra, so it can't be helped, but I'm wondering if it might have been better to buy a used Meta Quest 3 instead.
