The hike is approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) long and is considered to be moderately difficult. The trail starts at Pico do Areeiro, which is the third-highest peak on the island, and ends at Pico Ruivo, the highest peak. The hike takes around 4-5 hours to complete, depending on your pace.
