I m happy with integrated spi rx with ufl connector for external antenna

it worked but didn't create enough torque for a RC crawler

the extra weight of the digital vtx will help

yes, it rocks without gps. you can even try larger props like gemfan 2015 and larger motors eg 1002

I just used parts which I had available. If starting from scratch, cheapest way to build this drone is to buy a Mobula7 ELRS and the tiny GPS. Buying parts separately is around 150$: FC AIO 65$ Motors 40$ FPV cam 15$ GPS 15$ Props 3$

I'm assuming you are talking about the black hornet. The difference with that drone is mostly in the transceiver management. It supports encryption of the controller, video transmission, gps, and uses frequency hopping so the signal cannot be easily detected by electronic warfare. It also features a very high quality night camera and a thermal imaging module (the package comes with two helicopters as a pair). The biggest cost however is their rotor design which makes it unbelievably quiet. It can fly just a few yards from you and you won't hear it. This is something no other drone manufacturer has been able to replicate but for military and police purposes it is invaluable.
