Van and a Pram discover Spain’s hidden gem. Picos de Europa in northern Spain blew us away!
We explore the medieval town of Potes with it’s cobbled streets, amazing architecture and local tapas bars. It’s a great base to explore the Picos.
The cable car at Fuente De goes to the top of the Picos and it's not to be missed! It is spectacular and you can safely take children. You can walk around the top or all the way down (which we didn’t do) but it’s breathtaking.
The Sanctuary of Covadonga is a special spiritual place, no matter what your faith and the Basilica de Santa Maria is grand and imposing.
To get to the beautiful lakes of Covadonga you need to drive up the 12km of single lane winding roads which are hair raising and not for the faint hearted ... Elisa included! But it's totally worth it. Maybe take the bus though ...
