Some games and cartoons like baldi's basics use engines from older generations like anima8tor to create their unique styles. Most if not all animations today don't use them anymore.
I feel like these videos are dreams that have been extracted from someone’s brain while they’re asleep. I swear I’ve had the occasional dream like this.
Ahh this reminds me of when I was a kid and for some reason I would record cartoons on the TV with a handycam when I was bored. You always tap a deep nostalgic feeling and add something unsettling and dark to it in a wonderful way. I love all your work VLIF
LOL that reminds me of when I had my first lil mobile phone and would record music with its shityy microphone to listen to while next to the fireplace. It was delightful
Honestly, I really enjoy seeing this rabbit character move around. I've always been a fan of lower poly-models, and her model seriously reminds me of something straight out of Sonic the Fighters.
This feels like an Alternate Universe in which we somehow updated the “Communication to TV” concept. Scratch that, it feels more like a interactive prototype for the PS1 or Dreamcast.
To me it's more like cartoon from a some lesser populated US state made in the early 2000s with obvious fake interactivity, but was all kinds of bizarre. I could easily see this having been a thing on some local TV station here in Tennessee or in Alaska.
apart from the creepypasta fuel that this is, this concept of talking to someone through a monitor executed like this is new. id love to see this done again with the same found footage angle without it needing to be creepy like its kind of trippy to have the cartoon character not just respond to you but be aware of you, and then to act so normal about it too like the tv isnt a tv but a glass that seperates two universes.
The digital bunny girl character is oddly adorable, likeable, sassy, and a tad unerving/creepy at the same time. (Like how she actually reacts to the knocking on the monitor screen.) I kinda want to see more videos of her. I like her funny reaction when the mysterious viewer makes an odd remark to her. I can't tell if it's supposed to look like an old lost interactive video game, CGI cartoon, or one of those old digital puppets you see at trade shows that you talk too. (Which is how Charles Martinet got his start voicing Mario years before he did it for the Super Mario games.) This reminds me of those old strange "found footage" videos you'd find on RU-vid in the old days. The abrupt cut to the ocean at the end also feels rather random, and unnerving.
I am absolutely mesmerized by this video. Not just by the style and personality but also from trying to decipher the conversation they're having. I can just *barely* make out a few actual words. EDIT: there are subtitles now and i don't know how i feel about it
This feels like a dream, or where multiple things are overlapped. This cut at (0:58) is something my mind does in my own dreams. Where I am in one scene or setting, then it switches into a different brain state.
She reminds me of honey the cat from sonic and the style is like honeys first appearance !! :D "Honey first appeared as an unimplemented character in Sonic the Fighters, but was later made a fully incorporated character in the 2012 port." If you search honey the cats first appearance it shows her style of what she looked like and the rabbit character on the video looks like her kind of :D
I have blocked memories of both interacting with the game Hey You, Pikachu! like this and with an attraction at some park when I was little where you talk to a character through the screen and they talk back with premade animations, this very much pulled me back to those lost memories.
{things that I think this character is saying} 0:03 "Hello!" 0:04 "Tada! " 🎉 0:07 "Lala d today I have a lot of stuff for you today" 0:19 "Huh You want to go on a date with me?" 0:39 "It was like forever can you shut up!? I was watering the flowers" 0:45 "I didn't even start about it!" 0:50 "who's that creep? Well you need to stop! >:0" 0:54 "I will come along next time! ^^" ((Edit that's what I think she Lol 😅😂
0:02 “Like are you there??” 0:09 “Yeah good day, good day, We’re having a nice day today” 0:26 “Don’t get used to it boy” i cant make out the others sorry 0:33 “I tought you said it was okay!” 0:45 “I was excited about it!” 0:49 “It’s all i have for now..” 0:53 “But you need to stop!”
when i was little i used to have dreams like this. I could talk to mario or kirby and i would become friends. i do miss them because it made me feel so happy, but id be super sad when i woke up.
I keep coming back to this video. Whether it's the funny feeling of a nostalgic cartoon or the feeling something strange is going on something just draws me back
I love how the graphics of TV show looking thing at the beginning give of strong Sonic the Fighters vibes, as if the video is some sort of lost media from Sega, I swear the character model could fit right in with that game the style is almost identical
for those who care for what's being said. we'll call the lowpoly bunny "avi" for the sake of simplicity. (finally, subtitles are back) avi: Is it recording already? Viewer: Yeah yeah! avi and Viewer: "Hello!" "Hello, hi!" avi: Helloooo! Viewer: What do you want to say? avi: Hm? Hello, good day, good day! I love everybody's face today, especially the endless shadow next to the hairy boy. Viewer: Uhuh, and like, what... Like... What's your name? avi: What, you wanna go on a date with me? Viewer: You do have a nice outfit today. avi: Don't get used to it, boy. I can see your eyes bulging out from here. Viewer: There's more bulging than you're aware of. avi: HEYYY! Are you gonna point that thing to me all day?! I have stuff to do, you know! Viewer: Wha-Already? [Viewer knocks on the screen.] avi: Seems like foreeeveer since you showed up! I was never here to begin with. Are you that excited about it?! Viewer: That's all I have for now... avi: What are you expecting from me? Look, you need a job. Tell your mom I said hi, pretty please!
This feels like a weird-ass dream you can't wake up from. Like when you need to scream but you can't speak. Also, don't knock on the screen. Wouldn't that be like tapping on aquarium glass?
Love the aesthetics you're going with, the animation is really expressive and I love the character design! The way the real person interacts with the game/cartoon character is cleverly done. The art style reminds me of Dreamcast games and Sonic the Fighters.
That would be such a fun art project, just controlling a tiny character in a small parallax box some clever camera tracking to augment reflections and shadows inside the TV
This reminds me of a dream I've had where i was watching a tv in a blank, dark space. I was watching myself on the tv, and i was teaching myself how to overflow a washer with bubbles. I remember the character was in this dark space with only one basement-looking light shining over the character. Edit: i dont think it was me in that tv. Edit 2: this video actually reminds me a lot of pixel chix.
I cannot really explain well how this video makes me feel, but i find it kind of comforting? i like the concept of the person speaking with the character through the monitor. the whole thing feels like a dream i forgot.
Dude couldn't attract up a 3d rabbit so now he contemplates life and why he's forever alone by looking at the ocean. Which like him, is surrounded by plenty of fishes but is all and all a very vast and lonley scape.
el diseño del modelo de ese personaje me hace acordar mucho a los modelos de las arcades "SEGA MODEL 2" y especificamente me acuerda a sonic the fighters
This whole thing feels like it's just a snippet of something a kid or teen recorded with their mom's camera and the last clip is just the mom trying to capture a view of the ocean
Something about this video is interesting, in fact, this "Game" on the video looks like something from the Sega Saturn, a Tech Demo for it with alot of upgrades and with this concept of Interaction between Screens, It's really cool looking and I hope this series become something really big.
I would pay anything to understand what they're saying, even if it "ruins the mystery." Please make this a series, I feel like this is only part of a larger story.
I feel like the ending happens because, when the character tapped back, the recorder freaked out since they realized the character could see them and was sentient. So, they may thrown the game into the ocean.
This reminds me of these old dreams I would have as a kid when I used to watch cartoons. Actually, no, scratch that, these are dreams that I still occasionally have to this day.
It's like a weird yet detailed dream that you unfortunately remember only 0.1% of the dialogue from, judging by the garbled speech. It's oddly close to how my dreams go too lol (no joke one of my dreams involved me screaming unenthusiastically at a man in a business suit acting like an ape in an empty room)
before the addition of subtitles and the publication of any comment transcribing what these two said, i thought the guy recording was actually an adult woman, maybe in her 40's. His tone kind of reminds me of that
