Located on historic East Avenue in Rochester, New York, this special showcases the 12.5-acre museum site that was the urban estate of George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company. The Museum focuses on the 150-year history of the art, technology, and impact of photography and motion pictures -- media that continue to change our perception of the world. The 1910 Colonial era house, where Eastman lived and died, offers a glimpse into the private world of this marketing genius who invented the word "Kodak" and made photographers of us all!

I'm from originally from Rochester and have loved the George Eastman house since I was a little girl. It's one of my favorite places to go when I come home to visit. Thanks for posting!

I went there.I live in batavia 40 miles southeast. It is a photographers dream. It seems that Eastmans spirit is alive and there at the house.I eventually will create a song and video of the images i took.I am a local artist- photographer.I went to get a pic i am donating to "GO ART here at CVS because they have kodak paper.A guy was there working on the machines. He told me he does not even know if they will have kodak paper much longer. He may not even have a job.We the photographersneed it.

Fantastic documentary. However, it has a monumental mistake. No mention of the famous spy camera MINOX appears on this movie. It is a pity because this sensational camera can be seen in the New York Museum of Modern Art as an industrial achievement. The Minox also helped to prevent WWIII and has been an icon in photography. Considered by many as the finest and most extraordinary camera EVER made. Much better and finer than any Nikon, Leica or other brands. We are really sorry that Walter Zapp's invention has been ignored!!!

Actually, it was invented by a German in the late 1930's. Extraordinary, indeed. Better than Nikon, Leica, really?

No offense intended, but this is a 27 minute-long documentary. It is about the George Eastman House, period. It is not meant to be a complete history of every photographic process or camera ever invented. They left out one camera that you are obsessed with. So? They didn't mention the Kodak Autographic series of cameras, either. I own several of them, but you don't see ME saying not mentioning them is "a monumental mistake." Minox was manufacturer of cameras, a brand name - and not a specific model. There were about a dozen different models. Saying "the Minox" is like saying "the Zeiss." Also, no matter how "famous" or "sensational" you personally feel this "extraordinary" camera was, the picture quality was severely compromised by the minuscule film size.
