what’s upsetting is that some of them were sane, just physically ill. in many situations when people were suffering from undiscovered diseases they would be put in asylums.
lol i’ve been to mental hospitals many times and the people there are literally so cool and nice, the scariest part has always been the way that they’re treated, especially back in the day
I was in one and had bad luck with the roommate. Like, he'd spread rumors so bad everyone hated me after a day there. So it really all depends on the people you meet first. Though I'm sure suffering makes people bond easier
Blackwell asylum was the first asylum i ever heard of as a child and its just.....i dont even know how to describe it. I also heard of asylums that experiment on children. I also heard they made it the past for the "not ideal people" like people with anxiety, disabaled, depression, etxc.
@@jakeange933 but also when I watch these at night I always have to end up changing my pajamas, underwear and bedsheets cause I get poop everywhere, sometimes even on the walls but then I just have my grandma clean that part up in the morning uak it’s scary sometimes
I went to a kids' mental hospital back in January 2021, It was a actually good hospital because we would do fun stuff, I was with older kids. This is was like stuff the people on the short are doing.
What is absolutely disgusting about mental asylums back in the day, is that most woman admitted were put in for things like “reading too many books” or “not wanting to cook or clean” it is absolutely terrible!
Can yall stop being rude towards people in need of help, like saying “TW⚠️” as if those are scary pictures, it’s not like they are monsters or skin walkers ready to kill you. They are normal people that are in need of help, after all they are humans like us
Believe it or not ive met some of the most intelligent human beings while working at a Psych Hospital. Pretty nice & interesting ppl. Besides the scuffles its a nice experience when entering the medical field imo
For those who think they’re just chilling, have you thought about the fact that they’re taking pictures of them when they’re at their best state? (Which isn’t common)
See how they’re acting completely normal? When I was in the psych ward most of us were there because we hurt ourselves. Not because we hurt others. Most of the people at psych wards aren’t actually crazy menaces of society. Just people who been through shit and have trouble processing emotions and functioning in “normal” ways. We’re not monsters.
I went to a psychiatric hospital for a while and it’s rlly not how people think it is- we got to nap and eat ice cream and snacks and read and watch sponge bob! It was chill I had a lot of friends
Mental institutions get so over exaggerated in movies. The people their aren’t prisoners they willingly check into a mental hospital to get help for their condition and they are able to leave when ever they wish it’s only patients that are seen as a danger to both themselves and others that are wearing straight jackets and it’s very rare that the white room is ever used
Its sad how people view other's in mental asylums. . .you know? Theyre viewed as different insane dangerous when theyre people... that are struggling but they are still people that feel empathy so if you see a person thats in a mental asylum dont be scared or act different. . . They are still people
Psych wards have become much better as time went on, people still have bad experiences there but mostly (i think mostly) people go there for a few days and get help. And aren't actually crazy. Just struggling.
Y’all patients in mental asylums back are still normal. Some of them might be insane/crazy but those are getting help by nurses. Back in the older days patients were treated horribly and we shouldn’t act like these ‘patients’ are any different then us
I hate the idea that mental patients are crazy, mental hospitals are facilities designed to save lives and protect people, theese are old photos from when people would throw anyone they thought was different into a building and call them crazy, mental patients are not crazy they just want to be happy.
