The fact that this won't be the last time we see LEGO Snoop Dogg is incredible to me (he's coming to fortnite, meaning he'll probably have a lego style)
I was joking leaving today at the theater 1. They sweared in my pg Lego movie? 2. They put bikini girls in my pg Lego movie? 3. They put pg gas in my pg Lego movie? 4. They put irl protests in my pg Lego movie? It was pretty good. One of my favorite effects was toward the end where he was “drowning” in that big ocean
I loved this movie. I don't see it as a Lego movie. I see it as a movie in Lego. The difference is that it highlights how Lego can be used creatively in ways we never expected and shows how special it can be for expressing ourselves in countless ways. Make me love Lego even more
I really just want a CMF from this movie. I don't need a set I can build some studios and other stuff on my own but a CMF to have these figures would be so gooooood
I haven't seen the movie yet but judging by the comments people definitely love to reject these kinds of creative ideas, and then they are the first to complain when they just make unnecessary sequels lol
Bro exactly! I watched it last night and LOVED it. People think the idea of making the biopic Lego style is a cash grab, but it's just Pharrell's creative mindset. And some songs that I had no clue that he had a part in were interesting to learn.
I just saw this today in the theater, it was emotional listening to Pharrell’s story. I enjoyed his song, Happy, a lot. And as an Adult Fan of Lego, this movie was good. Very emotional.
The Lego set, is a rocket ship that is most likely made for Pharrell’s son. Whose name is Rocket, I’m guessing that’s why he decided to make the set a rocket. This movie is really fun, it tells his backstory in a very creative fashion. Visually this movie looks awesome, and there’s definitely a alot of heart in here. I really enjoyed the cameos too. I think if you care about animation or Legos, you would really like this little movie.
Now that Universal has the rights to make Lego movies, I hope that these are some of the movies they make: -a Lego Universal Monsters movie -A Hero Factory movie in the style of Transformers One -A Lego Movie 1 style movie combining all the Universal IP: Fast & Furious, Jurassic World, Pitch Perfect, etc. -A RECREATION OF THE ENTIRE OFFICE SERIES BUT IN LEGO
It looks very CG compared to other Lego movies that did a very good job using CGI that looked like it was stop motion with actual Lego pieces. I hoped a actual Snoop Dogg minifig would be made, not even the head from that set of his “phriends”. Are those heads of anyone in particular or just random faces?
Looks like this new Universal LEGO movie is never going to include easter eggs from the previous LEGO Warner Bros films, which I would love to see as a reference.
Just got back from seeing it. I was most surprised by learning (or hearing) how much of the music scene was influenced by him. Songs I’d heard but had no idea he worked on. Also loved seeing the Lego-ification of so many, ahem, adult themes :) I did think it was odd how some S-words were humorously bleeped out, but then several other ones weren’t. And for a PG movie too 🤔
Pharrell has a lot of those that he produced especially in his early days as the Neptunes it’s just the more deep cut songs not as much the main stream ones
It definitely bothers me that there's only one set for this. This could've easily been a wave if they thought more creatively. And there's not even a minifigure series??
I loved this movie. Shame their not Capitalizing on the sets and figurines from the film. I would've bought some of them and this is coming from a guy who only owns a sonic the hedgehog set.
Thanks for the review. I was very puzzled by what this movie actually was, so thanks for explaining it for me. I think I'll be skipping this one. No hate, but the premise doesn't interest me. I do 100% agree with you that Lego should stop being hesitant to do religious buildings. A winter village church would be awesome. I would definitely buy that. I hope Universal will do a more interesting movie now that they have the Lego film rights. A universal monsters movie perhaps? I'll buy advanced tickets if the Hugh Jackman Van Helsing is a starring character.
Universal monsters needs to stay as an R rated franchise, they are Horror movies, if universal does somehow make Lego horror with a bunch of different 80s slasher movies, then idk that'd be cool
How was your trip to Denmark? Am trying to reach Mark Stafford about the missed opportunities of DC and about what they do. I did send a letter though I don't know how long it will take?
It was good thanks! I’m not sure why you’re writing a letter to Mark Stafford. He is not in charge of the decision making at LEGO, he’s just a designer
@@Ashnflash Well, I want the info on why. Funko released DC figures and also why can't they release sets tied to comic books. The costumer service doesn't seem to have an answer. Who should I call?
You can write customer service, but that’s about all that can be done. Writing specific designers isn’t going to change that. To quote what they told me “it’s a marketing decision”
@@Ashnflash IDC about marketing or not. Superheroes originated from comic books. Also, there is a Sonic and DC crossover and I hate for them not to make a theme based on it. Superman is as much marketing as Batman. Market schmarket.
It’s not accurate to LEGOs style. While he does have more prominent lips, there are other male figures in the film that have it like Chad from the Neptunes. LEGO doesn’t do that, and they’re bragging about it all being able to be built IRL
@@Ashnflashhe was. No lines but during the award scene when they announced producer of the year or whatever he was sitting in the row in front of pharrell and chad
I honestly think the movie can be a good start to a set of films that tells the story of creative song writer's becoming big and lego set's based off of them. But I would also like to mention that you didn't sound to positive for this aswell, especially for a movie that is about an amazing song writer and you were also pretty negative about the black panther bust lego did last year. I think I'm starting to see a pattern.
A lot of people didn’t like the BP bust because of the price tag, the set was pretty much always on discount. And yes, Pharrell is a great singer, but I have no interest in this movie even though it is Lego. Lego and music are both forms of art and art is subjective.
the appeal of lego is that it isnt connected to a sertain person or industry. its not a good way to do these things and a lot of people i know in the adult lego fans wont see it bec we dont care for this stuf. i know his music and i like his stuf but i dont need a movie from him from lego. make a normal docu and be done with it
@@RZONE2000 But making it in Lego helps people visualize the story way more rather than real life; because the only thing you have in real life to help visualize are old videos. But with Lego, you can create a way more different experience and show emotions in a more extraordinary way.
I knew this movie had like a third of the lego movie's budget but there are fan animations on youtube that look better. Not to disrespect the animators, I'm just curious why that is
I remember getting ads for the movie, and I wasn't looking forward to it because of the fact that I could tell they were using AI voices. That's not even a joke, I could hear the weird sound AI makes when replicating a voice
Not with that attitude. Be positive. Stop spreading negativity. Piece By Piece shows that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and stay consistent.
Cool,Also if you already said something about this and im Just missing out, then Im sorry for bugging you but can you do another live stream, and if so can you post something in community about it,cause I check your channel almost every day so I'd like to know, thank you🙂
@@ClassicStudStudios not all music tho? Mainly hip hop and R&B and if you are saying the man who helped kickstart Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg then you are crazy
I just saw this movie today going in blind without seeing any trailers. I didn't like it at all and left the theater halfway through the movie. This was the first time I've ever done that and I've seen thousands of movies at the theater.
And why did you hate it? Do you even like hip hop? Or are you a Lego fan? If it's the latter, you shouldn't have even gone to see it mate, it ain't made for you Lego fans
@Shad_man1 I went because I have unlimited movie tickets. I go and see every movie that gets released regardless of whether it's good or not. I hear kids in my theater screaming how boring this movie was, and I agree with them.
@@karmy2005 its not for kids that's why, they would never resonate with it, and its one oof those films where in order to enjoy it you must enjoy what the source material is
honestly for me it was a pointless non interesting lego movie i have ever seen. it was even worse than the ninjago one. they have so many good themes but they shose a rl person..... HARD NOPE Also im sick and tired of all the dei stuf... its not needed to be forced like this just like farrel did keep that political stuf out of toys like this
