My dad passed away last August at 90 years old. He grew up at the end of the jazz-WWII era and his huge record collection I inherited had all sorts of musical genres from jazz, early rock, classical, theater and movie show tunes. So my dad had a lot of different tastes in music. He wasn't a huge 60s plus rock fan but did love Ms. Joplin very much. This song was one of his favorites and I love listening to it now and thinking of my dad. Miss you! :)

Hold onto those wonderful memories , My Parents beat me like a bad dog , When they drank my father would beat me with his fists till i blacked out ! My Mothers famous weapon of choice was a extension cord and beat me till i had nothing but black and blue , I had enough at 1o years old and I tried to eat enough pills and slit my arms and wrists till I passed out , Woke in a mental hospital arms taped , Next step they had them electrocute my brain till I had zero memory , They called it electric shock therapy ( Good way of erasing what they did to me , ) Side note my Brother who is still alive at 70 years old filled me in on what truely happened !

We we’re all pushed up against the small stage! It still is just a special moment of my memory in my life. It was 1968I think? LOL I was actually attending Villanova at the time and selling Tickets at the Pie Shop. It was along time ago! The Electric Factory was just trying to get off the ground.

Oh, come on, come on, come on, come on! Didn't I make you feel like you were the only man - yeah! An' didn't I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ? Honey, you know I did! And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I've had enough, But I'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough. I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it, Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby! Oh, oh, break it! Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, oh, have a! Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, You know you got it if it makes you feel good, Oh, yes indeed. You're out on the streets looking good, And baby deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain't right, Never, never, never, never, never, never hear me when I cry at night, Babe, and I cry all the time! But each time I tell myself that I, well I can't stand the pain, But when you hold me in your arms, I'll sing it once again. I'll say come on, come on, come on, come on and take it! Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. Oh, oh, break it! Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, Oh, oh, have a! Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good. I need you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it, Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby! Oh, oh, break it! Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, c'mon now. Oh, oh, have a Have another little piece of my heart now, baby. You know you got it - whoahhhhh!! Take it! Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby, Oh, oh, break it! Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh, oh, have a Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, hey, You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.

Big Brother & The Holding Company was one of the bands Janis Joplin performed with (as lead vocalist) before going solo later in 1968. Until her passing in 1970, “Piece Of My Heart” was her biggest success and best-known piece*. Although she wasn’t the first to record it, the single remains most associated with Joplin and kept on getting airplay long after her death. Janis Pearl Joplin sang “Piece Of My Heart” at Woodstock in 1969 as part of her encore❕ 💙💜💚 Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed will you remain, Janis Lyn Joplin (1943 - 1970)… 🌹 * The posthumous “Me And Bobby McGee” reached #1 in 1971.

Your information is almost AI.. hahah FYI Big Brother was more than just one of the bands she played with lol lol And the main focus of her solo still had Big Brother in it. Anyway

Wow the first 30 seconds of this song is like a time machine for me.. I wore this album out. She made natural curly wild hair popular in the 60s when straight hair was the thing. Thanks for saving me and my long Natural curly red hair in high school Janis, .. Wish life had handed you a better deal.

Happy Birthday Janis Joplin. Today is January 19th and she would have been 81 today. You will as always be one of my few favorite female singers from my era ''60s' and '70s. No one can sing like you sang, or sing your songs like you did. I will still say this today when one is being lauded as your reincarnation. The young lady I am speaking of has a powerful voice and I like her. But Janis, no she is not. I say that without prejudice. JMO Happy Birthday Janis.

I really like how Janis Joplin sings, even though she's not in my era as a younger generation. Her demeanor on stage really inspires me as a singer. She is one of my favourites.❤❤❤

Wonderful living in the SF Bay Area when Big Brother & T.H.C., with the down and dirty J.J. were doing live shows. And a big hats off to Robert Crumb for his most excellent interpretation of what a boss album cover should be like. May not be fully welcomed in the 2020s, but who cares.
