Hi Michael! Thank you for sharing your crafting and fiber festival with us! Spinning is a seasonal craft for me. I spin from February to July then knit what I produced. One way to not feel overwhelmed is to select one "spin to knit" object per year. It's a clear goal and more importantly a realistic one. I get to enjoy the process without the stress needing to work with all the fibers in my stash! (Yes, I have picked my 2024 project already) I started with spinning for a cowl, then a scarf, and last year it was a shawl. This year I am finally getting to make yarn for a sweater! It's a mix of Jacob, Corriedale, Romney and Shetland all in natural colors. What ever you choose to make, have fun 🧶

It has been a minute like you said. So glad you are back…I, selfishly, am happy it was a touch longer of a video this time. It gave me something to watch while knitting in my hotel room, away from home for a training. So much fun to see you and your lovely FOs, WIPS, & acquisitions. Hope your health thing is a non-issue! I'm brand new to your channel and I have to say your progressive pride socks are AMAZING! I'm a crocheter but love knit. Wish I could knit but my hands just don't cooperate. LOL, I'm so glad your channel popped up in my feed. Newly subscribed and will be catching up on your newer episodes as well. That sweater is gorgeous! What an amazing haul. Your knitting is inspiring since it was not your first love. All of your knitted items are amazing. It has inspired me to try some of the patterns you have created. I love your progressive pride socks!!!!! I use the extended single crochet when starting each row of my granny squares. It gets rid of that weird extra double crochet problem.

Yippee your back Michael. Understandable when you have some health issues that you want some time to get yourself together - you were missed though. Loved all your purchases and impressed you have bought wool with the knowledge of what you are going to make with it. I just buy and buy when at a show🧶 with nothing in mind. 🙈 Your jumper is fabulous. May have to knit one for my hubby - love your colours. Masham (pronounced Massam) sheep are lovely sheep with super wool. Mainly found in North Yorkshire ( where I come from but don’t live there now) You will enjoy using it for sure. Looking forward to your next update but again, delighted you are back 🐏🐑

I've worked with plotulopi too and it knits up beautifully but I also had a lot of leftovers compared to the estimated yardage in the pattern 🤷‍♀️ ..I should have used almost 4 cakes but I had 1 and a half left.. my only guess it that its unspun and it has zero twist so less bounceback.. but is just a guess.. I'll knit with it again this upcoming winter and we'll see..

@@piece4peacecraftingpodcast depends if you're ok with smaller gauge😅 my knitting friends always say that I'm crazy because I prefer to work with fingering weight all the way.. 😜 so I was getting 17/18 sts on 3.25mm needles holding it single by itself and was ok with it and loved the fabric I got, made Dreyma by Jennifer Steingass and next will be her Treysta so I can knit it up the same way, comes out super light but it sooo warm! And less yardage used is even a bonus even if unexpected 😍

Your spinning is all gorgeous! Are you taking part in Tour De Fleece this year? I learned to spin last Summer and I'm making it a goal to spin everyday for it and see how much I get done.

I'm in the Woollens and Nosh yarn club too. Just love every month though don't always have time to knit them immediately so happy you showed it worked up. How did you get them to match for taat? Did you wind off half and weigh it? I've got last month's on the needles but haven't finished the first one yet. Advice?

Awesome! It’s such a cool club and I’m happy that I was able to get in. When I’m doing my socks, I wind the skein into two balls making sure I start with the same color when I cast on. I don’t do it all the time but try to more of the time. If you’re doing the one at a time, just make sure when you cast on the second sock you start with the same color as your first one.
