Give yourself as much time as you need before you try to move forward. There's no set timeline. Allow yourself to grieve in anyway that helps you process. I've stood in my living room and screamed at God. I've lain in my bed for days. I've cried in my shower till the water ran cold. And I've allowed myself to feel numb. And I'm not done yet. You have my prayers.

I know exactly what you mean. I met my girlfriend when we both were at our lowest. She attempted suicide a few years ago, and we helped each other to rebuilt ourselves to face life again. We've fall in love thanks to this, and even though she lived in a different country of mine, about 1200 kilometers away we managed to stay together for 10 days straight at the time. Well, miracles aren't eternal. She stopped loving me at some point and she was so much angry at herself that she started hating me as well, jealous of my own love for her I truly hope your friendship will continue. I truly hope no-one will ever feel what I felt. Life shattered me, she rebuilts me to shatter me again but I was stronger... This time. Hopefully Well that's a strange story I know, thank you for reading to the end

On 1/13/2002 my my mom was murdered at the age of 59. 3/18/2021 my sister was murdered in her apartment while she was being robbed she was 57. 3/24/2024 my niece was found dead she was 37 accidental overdose. My life has been a mess. But im here praise be to God.

When I was homeless in Florida a few years ago. This was one of my favorite songs to listen to. One of the other things I enjoyed the most throughout that period of my life was the privilege to see the birth of a new day. So every morning there, i was in the beach sitting on the sand patiently waiting for it. This song playing in the background. Each time, it gave me hope, and I envisioned myself that I, too, will rise from all this, like a sunrise. What i envisioned myself to be back then has now come to fruition as i have risen from the abyss to heights unimaginable. In pieces, I was... slowly rebuilding myself until I became whole again. It is a powerful testament to the importance of visualization, hope, hard work, and my faith to God. 🙏 ❤️

Sorry for your loss. I lost my one year old "soul cat" in June. I'll never recover fully. He was and is everything to me. He ran out of the house one night and I couldn't catch him.. and he got out in the road. I looked for him all day the next day and was showing my neighbors pictures of him and asking if they'd seen him. One of my neighbors said he has in fact seen him. And that he had pulled my cat from the middle of the road to the ditch. I still remember the fear and panic I felt as I ran towards the road.. I begged for it to not be him.. then I saw him and broke down because it was my boy laying there. I miss him.
@@mariahasty4258 Aww, I know that pain. I've lost a cat due to traffic as well. He came home whining out of pain, dragging his back legs after him. His back was broken. I had to drive him to the vet in the middle of the night. A 2 hour drive where I had to listen to him whining in pain, knowing I couldn't do anything. And the vet could do nothing, but put him out his misery... That was the hardest thing I had to ever do in my entire life.... Bella I had put out mostly because I couldn't afford the treatment she needed, but also because there was no guarantee that the treatment would have any effect. And then it would be not only waste of money, but also not fair to put her through all that. So I took the hard choice to give her piece. Her liver had failed, so saying goodbye was the right choice. Even if it was hard. She deserved to be free of pain.

Hey I see this comment is already 2 years old but my first thought when I read it was “Jesus is calling you, He’ll be the one to truly make you whole”. Because that’s exactly what He did for me. I believe even the fact that this song spoke to you so much is one of the ways He’s been calling your name. Jesus can use anything to speak to a person, to call them to Himself, and He’s always very intentional and personally attentive in what He uses. For me, this song is a testimony of His power to mend, heal and restore a broken heart, mind, and life. And for you I believe it’s a promise from God that He will do this for you, He sees that you’ve been longing for someone who is able and willing to stay with you and love you until you’re whole again, and He wants to be that for you in every way you need and more. We all come to Jesus in pieces, and He lets our souls know that truly only His hands are skillful enough to fully repair us and make us like new, only His mind is fully knowledgeable of what it takes to do it. He knows. He cares, He’s always there for you and with you. He’ll be the one who won’t forsake you and break you again halfway through helping you heal. And He’s done this for us because He loved us and was more willing to suffer and die for us rather than let us die in our suffering without hope. He was more willing to die for us than to live without us. And so, all this being said, I hope and pray that you will soon know Jesus personally, because He is truly able to meet you wherever you’re at and change everything. Nothing is too much or too little for Him to take on. His love is the strongest anyone’s ever known. It is unfailing, unlimited, perfect love. It is only from a place of having recieved and known this love for myself that I can relay all of this to someone I don’t even know, and be entirely confident that it will be equally true for you as it is for me. I lost my best friend and soulmate Richard on January 6th,2021...a month before my 33rd birthday. We were together 15 years and he passed away in my arms from cardiac arrest due to detoxing from drugs and alcohol. It broke me bad...I fell so hard down the rabbit hole from his death. Never thought I would find happiness like that again but God brought someone just recently in to my life again and I'm at such a happy point in my life now with him. And having to overcome my own fatal addiction was next to being the hardest thing from loosing Richard, but God had other plans for me apparently!! You could interpret it that way, but I am near 100% certain that I read a few years ago that Red said they intentionally makes their songs in such a way so that people can interpret it the way closest to their heart. I tried to search for the interview now, but I would probably need to dig for a while longer, if you care enough you could try to find out their stance. You can be Christian and your lyrics not be powerful; you can be a non-Christian artist and your lyrics be powerful as well--it depends on the artist itself. The way that they craft their lyrics has nothing to do with solely being Christian or not, that's what I meant. I've also looked up meanings to several of their songs, and they like to write about personal battles with our inner selves, a lot of times against sin/the flesh, (Feed the Machine and Death of Me, for example). Then again, I imagine that they can have other meanings besides that as well. You can tell that their faith is the underlying motivation behind all of their lyrics, but again, faith in itself doesn't determine how deep one's lyrics are. And I do imagine that they may very well leave the overall interpretation up to the listener.
I too lost my soulmate. It was 1978, at the hands of a drunk driver. We met at 15yrs old and were never apart after. Drunk driver guy got a slap on the wrist. Course those were the days before all the laws were put in place against drunk drivers. We had a baby boy who really doesn't remember his dad. It's been a hard life but God saved us and kept us going. I'm now 71 yrs. and don't have many years left before I go home too. I can't wait to see his beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes. He'll be beside Jesus when I get home. To those of you who carry that void and ache of a lost loved one know that God is with us and them. We'll have such a grand reunion as all of Heaven welcomes us home.

2 weeks ago I lost my partner and the love of my life. She boosted me up so much, helped me come out to my parents, helped me see my value as a human being, allowed me to accept myself and get in tune with my spirituality, and now she's gone, but she visited me in a dream last night. Told me to keep fighting, to not end my life just so I can be with her. I think it was her last goodbye on this world, letting me know her spirit was fully passing on. Leanne, I'll never forget you. This song reminds me of my depression and how God saved me from it. I still struggle with depression but after my prayers, God brings it away. If you struggle with depression, I understand. I never really put myself out there saying I used to (and still have sometimes) depression so if any of my subs never knew, well here you go. This song makes me thank of Jesus and the Holy Father. When you ask for strength, he sends you battles to become stronger and wiser. He is always beside you. Not matter how far you stray from the path he is there with you still.
That's the beautiful thing about how God takes all the pieces of the puzzle of our lives and makes a Masterpiece out of it! Theres always a lesson, a growth spurt, a faith stretch that keeps guiding you towards His will. The song says I tried so hard, which is about our own efforts, we can't do much apart from God. We have to focus on the beauty of each day, on holding our loved ones a little tighter and knowing that we are okay exactly as we are and where we are in life at that moment.

I lost my husband 04.11.2023. He suffered a stroke 04.04 and never recovered. He was so strong and proud so I had to let him go😢 He is being cremated at 09h00 tomorrow and if all of you could light a candle for him at 09h00 tomorrow morning I will be so grateful. He will be surfing the Universe 🏄 His name is Errol and I am Nolette. I thought if I lit enough candles, the sun could settle for a day and allow my lights to be seen in outer space 😢

Yes, it's amazing how much power words and music have! And it really puts things in perspective when we stop focusing on our own pain and see the hurting people around us. I listened to this song when I was 14. In my bed at 3am. I was so depressed. Eventually getting hospitalized because I was so numb to even move from my bed. I’m 19 now and I’m proud of who I have become. I’m in college and I don’t have friends...only one. But it doesn’t bother me like it would have when I was 14. The person who really made me whole was myself. Just growing up and realizing that life isn’t easy but it is worth living for..of course I have days where I think “what’s the point?” And “maybe I wasn’t supposed to make it till 19. My fate is death”. But then I remember how much life can bring to you, if you make it yours. Sorry for sounding very cheesy. No one will read this. I just wanted to get it off my chest
What you said wasn’t cheesy, it was heartfelt and shows who you are. Don’t apologize. It seems like you’ve been through a lot, but you’re stronger for it. When you feel that way, it’s perfectly natural to want to share how you feel with people. Maybe you want to give people hope, or maybe you just can’t contain your joy and thankfulness about how far you’ve come. Either way, I think you’re awesome, and I hope you continue to find even more about life to look forward too.

coming from someone who struggled with depression and loneliness, I used to listen to this back when I felt horrible. I turned to god. I'm not saying that all fixed my problems, but it helped me. knowing even if it felt like nobody was with me, I was wrong. Its comfort. Now looking back on myself, I'm so happy who I turned into. but this song always strikes me to the days I fell apart. now I know exactly who I am (odd, god helped me find that I love cars :P) and I have been the happiest ive been in years, so I guess I'm saying, it gets better. Everything does. god is good in the end.

TheFourohsix I'm finding God, or He is finding me....and I am still hurting, but hope has come back and I can smile through tears now. I never share my own pain but I feel like I need to. I lost my mother and my two year old son a year and a half ago to a drunk driver. I was full of anger and hate and felt betrayed by everything I ever believed. My husband tried but couldn't help me. I blamed him for the accident. If he had just gone to pick up our son, I would scream at him. I couldn't be near him or anyone. I left him. This song kept popping up on my playlist. Over and over. I sat on the curb where the accident happened, crying as this song blared from the car... I don't know what tomorrow holds.... But my husband and I are learning to forgive and be forgiven. We are still broken, but we have given the pieces to God. . God Bless you and yours.

It’s the 10th December 2017. The last time I listened to this song was years ago. My depression was probably at its worst, I was being bullied by everyone in college, I had no friends, my abusive family was breaking me, as was my abusive boyfriend at the time. This brings tears to my eyes now because I survived. I found a wonderful man, we’re engaged to be married. I got away from my abusive family and moved in with him. He helped me get through the rest of college in all honesty because I had someone. I look back, and I survived. And I’ve never been happier. It’s crazy how songs can bring up memories in such a way.

My battle with depression and mental health has been silent. I've found help it has shown me who is there for me and who is not after pushing away friends and family. I've done away with social media I'm working on myself. Music helps so very much. This song is amazingly beautiful it hits so hard.
