Thank you guys for sharing your video gave me a few spots and also help me find a charter... should do some type of raffle or drawing allow a fan to go on a fishing trip with you. Even if it was some public area or Pier I wouldn't be interested
@@moseskongi4746 because it takes pressure off of the drag discs and if you leave it at that drag for too long it won’t be as smooth. It will vary the spool will spin fast hit a spot then spin slower. It’s not a huge deal until you’ve hooked the fish of a lifetime and it gets away cause your drag was jerky and not smooth.
I have been trying to find a spot in Michigan that’s somewhat near the border of ohio but I don’t mind making a drive for a good spot. But I’m trying to find a spot where I can wade/or access fishing spot where I can catch some salmon? I’m eager for the steelhead season here and was thinking about making a drive here at the end of the month
In the fall the st joe river Kalamazoo river and grand river all have healthy runs of coho and kings. There's some steelhead opportunity on the east side of the state along with a good chance at Atlantic salmon.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 wow! Thanks for the quick reply I did some steelhead fishing on my local river this year and have finally mastered it I caught 20+ probably this whole year!
Don't bother sharing what peir you fished from ! Fishing from a wheelchair l am limited as hell. Tell about what tackle you were using ! Will be moving on
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 yes seen that. 6lb line ? 30 lb line ? I would guess 8-- 12 llb. Water on both sides? Is one a channel the other open lake side ? Would a1oz weight work or has to be a 4 Oz weight ? Circle hook or straight shank hook. Size hook 10, 4, 2, 1/0, 6/0 to make a fishing video you have a long way to go. Sorry maybe this is your first Rodeo?
People cannot tell you that. Once people find out where this place is, it will be over fished with too many people fishing. Millions of people watch RU-vid....
I love using the bobber if it possible to use. I just got into bobber fishing for steelhead this year and did really well in northern california. maybe when I visit my cousins in chicago, I'll bring some of my gear. good video and cool gold fish you caught 😂
@@evlpnoy I can’t blame ya man not many things better than watching a float drain! We got a video on the bobber rig for the pier if u wanna check it out too for some extra help. Tight lines!
Is a 22 pound king salmon from Lake Michigan good. My dads friend took my family fishing and we all had designated rods and for my first salmon I got a 22 pounder so I was wondering if that was good or average.
Just 8-10lb line. Don’t need much for cohos. The skein doesn’t float much but the current will pick it up and blow it around a little. If you use spawn bags tho u can add floats to help keep it off bottom
I’m completely new to salmon fishing, so this might sound stupid but what is the bait you used on the end of the rig? Plan on heading to South Haven in the spring to try and catch some. Thanks for the vid, it was really helpful!
Shoot! I used to love the Ocuma SST, but I gave up on that rod, kept breaking them. Ironically the last one broke landing a giant carp in the tail water of a low barrier dam on the Huron River upstream from Flatrock Mi.
Tossing that small salmon back in from that distance showed no regard for sportsmanship whatsoever. It's called catch and release, not catch and heave.I was waiting for you to fall in jerk, but damn, just my luck, you were the lucky one. Stick your vids, I like things done right.
