This is a great video with excellent safety information. We have one on our channel showing a below grade rescue - but it doesn't offer nearly as much detail as this one. Great video Medford Fire. Stay safe out there.
we set up our Platform Ladders, extend them to full length (100ft.) and turn the ladder by 90° in under one minute... We have three 100ft. ladders at our station, and each of them is a platform ladder.
my company does this 1. check sides on the way to the back from the cab then check the other side 2. (no plates unless grass) throw down the jacks 3. put in the pins 4. get the ladder up on overdrive because someone is waiting for that thing
Im just trying to understand why the pins are placed inward facing the apparatus ? Being on a Truck myself always, pins outside. Also why wait until you have your outriggers out before throwing the ground pads ? All of my guys on my Truck have ability to place them right the first time before the outriggers come out.....
Would have loved to learn how to park this kind of truck on a very crowded narrow street with parked cars tightly parked on both sides. How you know exactly where to park the truck so the outriggers can extend without a car being in the way with only a foot of separation between cars.
