The opening lines of this song kill me everytime.. my gf used to cut really bad when we were teenagers (she was abused growing up) and i always told her she was beautiful regardless of her scars (which COVERED both arms and legs).. and that i never wanted her to go away that she was special to me and i loved her nmw. Then a couple of years ago (now as adults) she couldnt handle her depression anymore and took her own life. And i couldnt do anything to help her. It threw me into a bad string of heroin use where i just wanted her back but bc she couldnt come back i wanted to go with her.. ive since gotten clean an know i have to keep living for both her and myself an will keep the memory of her alive as long as i can

My best friend recently passed away... It will be one month on the fifteenth. As a Christian, it has been so hard to deal with feeling that God has somehow betrayed me by taking him away. This song has helped me so much. I can't listen to it without bawling my eyes out. Listen Im not attention whoring but I just want to say something. If someone says something like "Dont self harm because things get better" or something like that, dont tell them that they are wrong or that they wouldn't understand. Maybe they didn't say "i've been there too" or admitted they have been depressed before, but you never know. Its usually always the broken souls trying to help others. What if she ends up thinking she can't help others and that she is just a waste of space? (Or he) . The community of PTV is so sweet and positive and helpful oh my gosh.. It's overwhelming to think how many people don't even personally know eachother yet say they love them and lend eachother encouragement. I went through a time when I really needed that and you guys' (along with others) encouragement and positivity kept me going. Kinda off topic, but, if you are self harming, throw away whatever the heck it is you hurt yourself with away. That's what I did and the urges might be strong, but it's worth it to look down at my legs and see the deep scars beginning to fade. I'm only 4 months clean, but this helped tremendously and the only thing urging me to are my parents and my anxiety. Love, me
