My MIL is 35 years clean and she has been active in the recovery community that whole time - offers support, tough love and wisdom to so many people trying to make their lives better. I admire her so much. Getting help helps! Maybe not everyone reaches out for help, but if there was ANY other support option other than clean drugs for addicts there is a percentage of people who will take it. ❤

Really? You do realize that the largest expenditure of our health care system is now .....drugs. So what you are saying is you ONLY want to give money to big pharma for drugs. So maybe we should just allow every addict to sue the government for a million dollars for their part in the opiate crisis. Nobody would have thought our leader would be in a position to have to deal with this kind of catastrophe. I thought safe supply is offering a clean and safe way for people to do their drug of choice instead of directly on the streets. Where they get diseases and all sorts of other issues. It's an embrace of freedom. These people are choosing to look at life in a negative way to the point they are taking drugs. But eventually it harms them more by doing it unsafe. It's not telling people to do more drugs. It's saying that we care and you can still come out of it without getting more diseases in the process. People are going to do it anyway. If people were not doing it anyway, there would be no need for a safe supply.

More so, I see this connected to various incidents throughout the recent weeks... For instance YT channels that are clippers recording their favorite vtubers and such, got all deleted/banned out of nowhere, accused of 'impersonation' when they clearly aren't. I see this as a threat and a message towards people freely relaying information through clipping and freedom of speech... Because vtubers are influencers, and clippers help spread the influence to more people... YT's advertisers are freaking out about that potential to ruin their plans of controlling others. You have streamers and youtubers like Asmongold as well, who reacts to videos and incidents, and he also spreads the words to all his viewers, and them to others... They hate that as well. RU-vid wants to dictate what they recommend to you, but don't want you to tell others what you are able to see or find, because they want to make sure certain 'groups' of people remain innocently naive without another group feeding them information.
This is why political stuff is heavily censored, and left and right leaning channels are often very bias and communication between them gets blocked a lot, if not turning into a argument over something stupid. Because the last thing they need, is the left and right leaning people realizing what's going on, and actually aligning their opinions on the same side.

It is impossible in this country to get help for people who have mental illness or drug addiction. In the last week I have personally spoken with paramedics, police officers, shelter workers, children's aid workers, outreach workers. The common theme I heard from each one of them - the system is broken! And the health care system is crumbling. What are we doing in this country? The laws and policies that are in place are destroying families, destroying cities, causing crime, and they don't work! Good people go to work everyday and want to make a difference and they can't because of the policies in place. Police officers arrest the same criminals over and over, addicts can't access rehab services, people with mental illness are put back on the street because the hospitals can't deal with them. It's so incredibly frustrating to navigate the system to help a family member if they are mentally ill or suffering from addiction. This is not the country I grew up in. We need change!!!
12:30 As an RN, Pierre is exactly right on what treatments we should give to help addicts recover from drug addiction and eventually become a self-sustaining member of the community. I’ve been asking this question a few years back why BC was “requesting” the federal government to allow them to decriminalize illicit drugs in their province or “is it the other way around?” I wonder if they even consulted medical health professionals about their proposal. If ever they did, those health practitioners should be stripped of their licences.
RN in NB here...we are not as bad as BC but we are slowly getting there. I've been seeing people sleeping on our streets uptown. that's never been the case here. I'm all in with getting people off drugs by getting them into treatment. problem is they are slowly closing the places here due to staff shortages etc. it's a sad situation!

RN here from BC. I agree that more recovery and treatment spaces are needed, but statistically, only 16% of addicts actually recover and stay sober, so promising that people will recover is highly naive.

The little town i live in, we have 10 liquor stores, 10 weed stores and 10 churches . In a place of 5000 population. Yet no homes for homless. I will be one soon as well , i have 2 months. The house i live in has been sold. What a wonderful country we live in huh

The liberal goverment expects us to pay two years worth or corporate taxes in one year. This has been happening past two years. This is putting a lot of stress on small business owners.
