In Ocon’s defence, the massive majority of the crashes with Perez were not his fault. Otherwise I agree. I think Pierre is laying it on a bit thick here though. He needs to focus on improving his own performance before he starts preaching about others

His relationship with Ocon is really bad. Remember when Pierre and Yuki had an accident too and Yuki was really worried that Pierre would be mad at him he had to ask Charles for help to approach Pierre. 😢 They are still good friends now.

Magnussen isn't a bad driver, he was driving like he was these last few races to cover his teammate and it worked well. The Monaco incident was (rules-wise) Perez's fault for not observing that Magnussen was alongside him. He probably didn't expect a Haas to try fighting a Red Bull, but that doesn't mean Kmag doesn't get to try. Ocon is way more surprising. The fact that he's a great dude off the track and has the speed are probably the only reasons he's still in considering he's such a nightmare of a teammate everywhere he goes.

My guy tries so hard to be polite when his team literally attempted to ruin potential points for the team, I swear Stroll has been looking better than Ocon and I honestly don't get it why Ocon is not considered the dirtiest driver on the grid by the majority at this point

Because he's only that aggressive against his teammates. There's a good dozen races where he just lets people past from other teams no contest then runs his teammate off the circuit. It's rare for him to pull shit against anyone he isn't teammates with, only one that comes to mind is when he basically ruined the 2021 championship by taking Verstappen out by being lapped. Keep in mind that for all the shit the FIA gets for their Abu Dhabi ruling, it would've probably never mattered to begin with had Ocon not egod Max out of the race, because he wouldn't have HAD to beat Lewis to get the championship. Verstappen should've gone into that race 25 points up from where he actually was.

Alpine have a french driver in Pierre, they should dump Ocon and get Yuki, Yukis underrated, looking for change and has a good relationship with Gasley, would be a good buffer while they search for a permanent driver and may even work out well for them.

Lance has his issues but “unsportsman behaviour” is a bit of a stretch. He’s never been a problem teammate like Ocon or been as reckless as Magnusson, (just has hilarious but catastrophic “brain fade” moments) and while the Ricciardo incident in China wasn’t pretty, it’s hardly what he’s like most of the time.

On top of that, Pierre is a high pace driver, and is good with driving a somewhat difficult car (even Alonso couldn’t make the alpine have pace this year). Throw in Hülkenburg who is also fast and a solid driver, as well as amiable with his team mates? Could be a solid team choice for Audi.

It’s crazy to me how terrified teams are of finding new talent. Maybe the only sport where a bird in the hand is worth 20 in the bush. I don’t blame them, I’m sure it’s a huge risk. But if F1 could scout like FIFA could, Max wouldn’t even be in the top 10

His crashes with Perez when they were teammates in Racing Point, with Alonso in AM, even crashing with Max in Brazil trying to unlap himself and fuckin maxs race when he was P1. He is a fast driver, has good hands and people dont give him credit for that, he is much better than those other 3, but he has a problem with teammates

@@UnintendedConsequences To be honest, kinda. As much as Stroll gets crap for being a pay driver, he's no Mazepin. I think he's shown that he at least could perform near the levels of (admittedly, past their prime) Vettel and Alonso at times. He wasn't terrible compared to Checo when they were teammates and he outperformed Nico for the short stint that he was on Racing Point. He has shown at times that he can legitimately race. And yeah, he's not a total liability for his team when he's out on the track like Ocon is. I hate the guy, but there's a big gap between him and the four I listed.

This dude, Gasly, totaled both of the team's car back at the Australian GP last year. Both cars would have scored points. Then the team argued to the FIA that he shouldn't get more penalty points for causing that crash. He would not have started the next race if he had received the penalty points that he should have got. Of course, no public apology from Gasly either. Now everyone is demonizing Ocon because he didn't take both cars out on a day when they maybe could have scored points. Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of either driver. I'm just pointing out the basic unfairness of these two situations.

Ocon might be one of the most unpopular drivers out there. 1st he is not charismatic at all and 2 he makes stupid mistakes ESPECIALLY against his teammates. Ocon is not top 10, but he is very close to it, maybe the 11th or 12th best on the grid and a solid driver overall but his issues with his teammates are ruining him.

The irony of the f1 community is appawling. When Senna goes for gaps and does dangerous driving hes a hero but when Magnussen or Ocon does it they get buried with hate. I get that the you need to earn respect and Senna certainly did, but f1 driver need to take chanses sometimes even if the risk is very high. I agree with clarksson, people that actully try to overake should be rewarded. Ocon should however take full responsibility for the incident.
