even though the pre trade PLD situation wasn't that great, i'm so glad he's been doing well in winnipeg! we got laine out of it so i'm very happy. so sweet that PLD changed his number for Matiss 💙

Torts was right though. Up until that game, PLD was NOT playing well. His Defense was terrible and the play was too fast for him to read. There's a huge difference between Jr and the AHL. There is an even bigger difference between Jr and NHL. Which of course, anyone could point out as obvious. some players, regardless of their hockey iq need more time to process the game. I think that's a huge diffence along with talent gaps in the current nhl. Adapting to the speed of the game is essential. This is an example of a player who may have been adapting to the game and who got a shot while also getting thrown into the fire from Torts. I think Tortarella is perhaps one of the best coaches who really gives a shit about his players. I think he's judged unfairly a lot throughout his career. pld did quite well that year. he was given the opportunity and took every advantage of it.

I think a professional Coach should demand greatness from his very generously Paid Players!! Sissy’s need not apply!! That Coaching style had he’a Teams making the Playoffs 12 out of his 18 years coaching!! Most of which were coming into dumpster fire situations.. Meaning most of his 1st years with new teams they didnt make the playoffs!! So besides 1st Years with Teams he only missed the playoffs 3 times!! Not to mention the guy is actually a really soft spoken big hearted guy… I’ve met him multiple times outside of the game!??
@@stanleyfranks9891 I was a 10 year season ticket holder for CBJ. Torts is a dumpster fire. I agree todays players lack the toughness of the players of old, but that is the game today- and Torts does not fit in it anymore. He is an egomaniac who wants things to be about him while hiding it under a "team" red herring. I am 100% glad Torts is gone. I wish he had been gone sooner before the CBJ alienated so many players with their insane coach who may be a good guy off the ice, but is an insane egomaniac with little mans syndrome on it.
