Pierre on Starring in 'All About U', 2Pac's Last Music Video (Part 6) 

The reason why I Aint Mad At Cha and All About U did not drop until after he passed is because the initial plan was for the Makaveli album to be released in March of 1997 followed by One Nation. This would have given Death Row roughly 4-6 more months to promote All Eyez On Me. I believe this would have dropped most likely in October 96 - January of 97. Makaveli album was not totally finished yet. We have it in the last final state that 2Pac approved of, However he was suppose to remove or edit out the Nas disses after they made amends after the MTV Music Awards. 2Pac could have very well scrapped some songs for newer songs by the time March of 97 though. The album would not have been released the way we have it because he constantly recorded new songs or new versions. The song "Friends" also was constantly removed and re-added back on different drafts of the album.

It was only a matter of time before a Tupac related question was asked

2pac actually went from being thought dead to critical condition to stable condition. At one point after the Vegas shooting his aunt Desiree said he was up and conscience but then after that I guess the infections or trauma caused his spirit and soul to leave his body. I day this to say at one point they thought he was going to pull through. But had he lived Pac wasn't going to be the same. They had to remove a lungs so his acting and rapping career would've probably been over as well as his fiery interviews and speeches. Also they shot one of his fingers off so he would've been disabled. After Pac and Big got killed hip hop never truly recovered. Nas and Hov tried valiantly to fill the void and Em, Pun, DMX and 50 came in the game and were juggernauts like Big and Pac but it wasn't the same. For our culture in the 90's loosing Pac and Big was like the 60's Civil Rights era losing Malcolm and Martin. As far as Pac there really hasn't been anybody in rap to bravely speak on issues affecting young black men such as 2pac. Imagine 2pac seeing Eric Garner, Trayvon, Tamir Rice or Philando Castille being killed? He would've lost his mind. He would've been rapoing about lead poison in Flint, Black Lives Not mattering until we matter to each other, he would've been castrated the whole IG/Thot culture, spoke about gentrification, etc...Pac wasn't a saint and he would've been smashing Kim K, Blac Chyna and Amber Rose and doing deals with Hennessy and selling out as well but he was still the most true artist in genre and the most credible voice.
