The song was performed for the first time by Daniel Balavoine, then taken over by Norman Groulx, Renaud Hantson, Bruno Pelletier, Grégory Lemarchal, Daniel Popovic, Laurent Bàn and Dimash Qudaibergen. The version of Piet Arion is produced, arranged and mixed by David Gerd Ogris.

I love Dimash. I'm one of his biggest fans. his vocal technique is incredible. he inspires so many singers, and me as well. I think we all would like to sing like Dimash, but that is not possible. we can console each other by reminding ourselves, everyone of us is unique in their own way! I love this song and it's about what sense we have on this planet. I learned French for this song and I tried to do my best and to make my own interpretation of it. I did not sing the song to be compared to Dimash. Dimash is my idol and he will always be the best in what he does! His spirit is a warm-hearted soul, fighting for peace and love! and like my idol, I want to give as much love as I can and wish everyone of you the best and much fun with this song.

Dimash is a product of intensive training and I guess sacrifice over many years, the result is astonishing.. Piet has similar skills but without the years of hard work...I like the "guy next door" vibe about him, down to earth, good honest caring man...I think Dimash is fantastic, however, this man is as good, if not better, in that he is accessible to his fans..

The passagio in this singer is not as good as Dimash. It isn’t about hitting a note, but of how the voice travel through his singing apparatus. With more practice he could do it for this song. He has to put more emotion into the song.

The Dimash fans trashing Piet are a terrible look for Dimash’s fanbase as a whole. I say this as a Dimash fan myself. Both artists’ renditions are incredible. This cover isn’t a comparison or imitation; Piet sang it in honor of Dimash because Piet was clearly inspired by Dimash’s version. That’s a massive compliment. Additionally, Piet included many original changes of his own to differentiate himself and make it his own style. If you don’t see it this way, you need to grow up.

Dimash is very respectful to other people and I think he would be very ashamed if he knew that we as his fans are disrespectful of others. Even if we do not like this version, we should not offend this young man, who himself is a fan of Dimash.I want to be honest, I will always love Dimash more than other singers, simply because he has so much charisma that makes him so unique. But I also like other singers like Christina Aguilera, John Legend, Andrea Bocelli.

SyXtel you can’t correct high frequency pitches - please educate yourself on the matter. The software will stretch the pitch making it sound metallic, inorganic, and alien - like a machine, a robot. Whistles are an actual singing technique that many singers, like Mariah Carey, are famous for.

I'm french and I think both gregory and daniel's version are ''meh'' at best. They neither have the vocal range nor the voice to perform it like it was meant to. There are tons of videos out there easily outperforming them, being first to interpret it doesn't make it good.

Those who criticize him or compare him to Dimash, I don't understand the usefulness of your comments. As a French person who has watched a hundred covers of this song, it is undeniably one of the best. Whether it's the accent where we understand almost everything (while the French accent is very hard to master), the voice, the interpretation... what he brought to the song is sublime. A cover is made to add its own touch and that’s precisely what makes it unique. Dimash is excellent too, but if you want to watch his performance, watch there, but stop comparing other artists to him.

I’ve listened to this song in Dimash’s manner a lot of times and thought nobody can sing better. But man that whistle at the end! My skin had goosebumps all over! Your version is definitely worthy of attention.

People hating on Piet need to stop. He sang SOS in his own unique way, and if you don't like it than don't watch it. Both Dimash and Piet are deserving of love.

You guys need to really stop with the hate and comparing that your giving Piet. He did his best on this spectactular cover, and your all missing the point that there are men who are able to hit whistle notes like that. What happened to just enjoying the cover and giving positive feedback? You all need to grow up and stop making false accusations about Piet, this cover is 4 years old and your all giving pointless hate for no good reason. Wow! You are right.. Dimash is an amazing and an unique singer but I have to say that you really surprised me when I heard this version. I really really LOVE it ! You have an unbelievable voice and that vocal range..🤯. Simply WOW!!

This version makes a lot of sense to me. The lyrics of this song speak about an earth-bound creature who cries in desperation because they feel that their soul wants to soar, they believe they were meant to be a bird, not a land creature. Dimash's version uses opera voice (among other plethora of techniques) which makes his voice sounds very powerful, imposing, huge. But, in my opinion, by avoiding using techniques that make the voice sound powerful or imposing Piet Arion's version captures that feeling of despair and helplessness. Even the fact the he sings whistle notes, it's like saying that they wish to be a bird soooo badly, that they will go as far as to imitate their singing in an attempt to prove themselves worthy of being one, but to no avail. Both versions are good. Dimash's version to be amazed by a lot of techniques used flawlessly in one song. Piet Arion's version to feel the lyrics.

I absolutely don't understand HOW it is possible to put a dislike to this! I am listening to this recording for a few days non stop and still cannot believe my own ears! @@ilsindacodilignano7314 you can hear it through basically the entire song but if you want an easy to see example 3:09-3:14 and the super high notes, he is nowhere near able to hit them 100% of what you hear there is autotune.

@@kekkek7888 ok, maybe there is auto tune in a copple of high notes (and i'm not sure about that), but there are only 2 moments when he sings high notes "with auto tune" so you can't say " tonne of autotune"
