I agree because our dog and pig were best friends and they play inside our house. When we ask them to play outside, our pig understands it and he would lead the way. 😊

Yes it is, he loves that pig unconditionally. And pigs are very simple friendly affectionate animals who deserve absolutely no unkindness. Also, it is very inspiring to see someone who really found their purpose and found something that really brought him happiness at age 50. Life really does begin at 50 for some, I've seen a couple other stories on that actually

I'm sure you've seen the way that pigs attack and scarf down food, like every meal of theirs, in the same way that we'd attack food if not having eaten in 3 days. I think it's because pigs have more sensitive taste buds than we do. What tastes good to us tastes great to pigs (such as carrots or cucumbers). What tastes great to us tastes unbelievable heavenly great to them (apples, strawberries, pineapple). What is yuck inedible to us is average but edible to them (pig feed/pig kibble). They eat pig feed as regular meals and it certainly curbs their hunger, but pig feed not special treats to them like fresh vegetables and fruits are (on factory farms, pig feed is all they're even given. In sanctuaries, people often treat their pigs to fruit and veg (just like they treat their lucky happy pigs with much more kindness overall)

Yes, thank God for the pig in this video, and Esther the wonder pig, and Julia an incredible pig, and the happy pigs at Vegan santuario gia, and all of the happy safe pigs at sanctuaries everywhere. If only the other pigs in this world were as safe and happy as these pigs, but they're not, they are getting tortured, harmed, slaughtered, and living in terror and agony. And these are animals that are so simple, pure spirited, friendly, affectionate, and playful. How could such wonderful beings deserve all of that? @@ImOk... Huh. That's odd. I uploaded those as private videos and RU-vid un-privated them. Lovely. Anyway, correlation is not causality. No, I wouldn't eat him; he belongs to someone as a pet. Pigs raised for slaughter are bred to feed us and I feel no shame in eating something intended to be eaten. Humans are, after all, apex predators and our ancestors fought to grant us the luxuries of readily-available food sources (like other, lesser animals) that we enjoy today. I can find a pig like this one cute whilst also enjoying delicious strips of bacon as eating _a_ pig and eating _this_ pig are two different things.

Armameteus ...humans would not be apex anything without tools, yes. The majority don’t crave raw, bloody meat (not like a wolf or lion). They crave sauces, spices, pan-fried this, crispy that...just saying. What people eat on their own time is their own prerogative, farbeit for me to shame anyone for that. What I have no shame in shaming is animal cruelty / abuse. Those offenders can take a hike...to Mars.

@@ImOk... I don't condone animal abuse, no. Where I can, I try to ensure any animal product or biproduct I purchase is humanely sourced, even if it might cost slightly more, as I want to support more humane animal farming practices, but I won't pretend to be a saint. If I can't find those free-range eggs or that grass-fed steak when I want it, I'll still buy the "regular", likely less-than-humane stuff if it's the only thing available or I can't reasonably afford the alternative. I don't pretend to be a better or worse person for buying one or the other. I just do it if I can in the faint hope that maybe it'll encourage that kind of market to grow as opposed to the more industrialized, less-humane varients. Not living near any free-range farmlands makes it rare though, unfortunately. If anything, it just makes me miss owning chickens for the free eggs and free companionship, but chickens aren't really suited to life in an apartment building.

Pigs are also much cleaner than people think. One of my favorite videos is a pig collecting bouquets of flowers and decorating her home with them. The owner said she wasn't trained to do that either! She did it regularly on her own!

Depends on the state, but in the US for instance, they have pretty tough animal protection laws, so leaving an animal locked in and abandoning it probably IS illegal in most states, but you know, if nobody points it out to the correct authorities, there's a good chance they'll never know.

farm animals have almost zero legal protections, in fact all animals are technically considered property in the US including cats and dogs, people are usually only prosecuted for animal abuse if it’s someone else’s animal. Most of our “animal protection laws” are more about protecting business methods then the animals themselves

I only eat organic clean farm raised quickly killed animals...If you eat mass produced meat those animals have been tortured and fed crap and steriods from birth to death..The steriods and especially the stress hormones affect the meat drastically. Always eat animals that lived a happy care free life. Problem solved ..And If your vegan you should at least eat fish.

this is wonderful. all Animals really are cute and sweet in their own ways, I can't eat them anymore. ive volunteered at Farm Sanctuaries several times and its amazing. I wanted to live on a Farm as a little kid. now my dream is to live on a Farm Sanctuary. ❤🐾

Pigs can be really affectionate and comforting. I’ve loved them through my life. Meeting them and giving them belly rubs was the only thing that lifted me from the deepest pit of depression. It’s been devastating that during the pandemic all of the sanctuaries have been closed and I’d need my fix.

Later that day I found an abandoned pregnant pit-mix, as if I had been given a chance to make up for the animal I killed long ago. She had 7 puppies and I kept one. I'll always miss them. To circle back to the original point, I wouldn't have felt as bad if I had run over a human. Now I'll get a load of hate--which will prove my point.

If you want alternatives, there's a RU-vid channel called Sauce Stache that I would highly recommend. He experiments a lot with cooking and makes mostly vegan food. His plant-based "bacon" series is *really* good!
