My taste is very specific... I only hate comments on randomly suggested videos about cute cuddly pigeons complaining about complaining. This hits the spot, thank ;)
Up where I live they’re extremely bold. They do not move when they see you coming. To many times im the one stepping around them. I be turning around and looking at them like 🤨
My son and I used to feed the local pigeons. One began to recognise us, and it would go onto my sons shoulder or arm when we bought it seeds and such. A few others would do this too, and it got the attention of passers-by. People would then ask us if we could get a pigeon on them, and take pictures etc. It was heart warming to see these birds finally get some appreciation. They're really sweet birds if you bother to treat them as more than a pest!
In a nearby town of mine they're a local pest. The literally cover people's entire balconies in poo. People have to put plastic crows on balconies to scare them away.
Thats with a lot of animals, mate also did you know that pigeons were commonly used as messanger birds, including in World War 1 and 2?We also domesticated them. @hsthatzo8063
@@arii5151 Mostly pigeons and doves, but I can't quite remember; though most birds honestly buzz their wings if they're really happy for sure; I have an Amazon parrot who's pretty much Rasta color; I put my head on his back and he was way chill:) *he's about the size of a Kea if not heavier lol*
It wasn't until I moved to a city for my job, that I really began to look closely at the pigeons. They really are a handsome bird, when one takes the time to really notice them in detail, instead of just passing them by as being sky rats. Some of the coloring on them is fascinating to me.
I second that thought! For me personally, I noticed that they had these fascinating colors on their necks thanks to a Tumblr post that appreciated them despite being normal birds. To anyone who wishes to know, the post went something like "I saw some great pigeons the other day" "These are normal pigeons" "Yea but they're great" I love this post, made me realise how beautiful their necks are.
Pigeons are not flying rats - it’s not their fault they carry diseases. They are still an animal worthy of our compassion, kindness and love. They are adorable, tame and friendly birds!
They dont carry as many diseases as humans. The only way I know to even get sick by a pigeon is to find a sick one, pet it and rub it in your eye. Mess around with a human and you can catch all sorts of stuff.
Fun fact pigeons where once respected as pets and as a high class thing to have intill someone who randomly hated pigeons started the hole ""pigeons are sky rats"" thing
I interpret this bread loaf stance as "Ohhhh woe is me, I'm TOTALLY injured! If only a human could give me pets to cure my ails!" (Or is this a "take me now" mating pose lol). I also love how they're twitching their wing like a happy dog wags their tail. Super cute
Good point! I was too distracted by the rest of the body language to take note of tail posture. I'm also not as knowledgeable with pigeons, so I find it interesting that this lil' dude wanted pets on the floor. My cockatiel only flies to the ground to cause mischief. xD
@Camo Moose I live in a city and I see plenty of pigeons - their mating behavior looks nothing like that. And they do their mating ritual in all kinds of places, too. Sometimes in between traffic intervals.
welllll it's more like how dogs put their bums up in the air this is a courtship dance and the back of the bird is an erotic zone for them. I know that ruins the cuteness haha
@@mezzovii well a lil sometimes pigeons bow slightly during courtship and they often have their tails pointing slightly upward when they lie down in the "come get it big boi" pose . lol
That wing action tells me she is very young, or remembers being very young, because babies drop their heads and twist them around to look up, while gently fluttering their wings. Pigeon sounds are wonderfully soothing! ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Pigeons aren't wild animals, they're feral pets. We've bred them to be docile and completely depended on us just like what we did to dogs and cats. We need to understand that they're our friends and they're a lot better then parrots/other bird pets as in they won't get sexually frustrated when you pet their backs and can be trained. Plus their cooing is so cute
I love pigeons. They are birds that are so perfectly evolved to their original niche in life. They are judged poorly based on their forced adaption to suburban lives as "flying rats" in a largely unnatural environment. A healthy pigeon is an amazing example of avian perfection. Pigeon breeders know exactly what amazing natural talents and unexplained intelligence pigeons display.
Wing twitching can mean different things but in this video the pigeon is happy and excited so it means they want cuddles! The head bobbing is also a good sign 💕
@@birdman.0 In another case, those wings is just a threat or they preparing to get involves a big fight with another birds. These doves is a truly group-gangster, I got a pack of this bird on my rooftop, I am not their owner but watching them in two years got me some knowledge about this animal.

@@chuannguyenvuanhSG92 I am very involved with wild doves, and what the ones living near here do before they slap a human is they raised their wings fully closed, they are usually puffed up in this stage, once the reach the highest their wings go they slowly unfold them and then slap you. I guess different species have different fighting mechanisms. 😂 All chaotic in their own way
My pigeon thinks fingers are demons out of hell, if I ball my hand up into a fist he'll be just fine but the moment those fingers come out he's running.
Cute! They do the wing shake thing when excited, and low to the ground while shaking them while waiting for their mate to come back. My pigeon will do this and call for me until I come over, then he jumps back up and goes back to cooing and dancing. Sometimes they stay low to the ground doing this for their mate, so I'll come over and pet him or pick him up.
@@toolatetothestory yes many many birds will bond and "pair" with their human and act towards them the same they will a mate, the pigeon doesnt actually expect to have sex with you and will still pick another pigeon to live its monogamous life with if theres one around that they like but its just a product of them being domesticated for so long. We bred them to be predisposed to loving humans as much as they love their mating partners
Aww. Knowing how much affection pigeons have to offer, it makes me sad that so many fly around our cities being treated like pests. Definitely looking into finding a rescue group to see about adopting one :)
Saw a bunch of them when waiting on a bus in Dublin, just casually walking around like they owned the joint. There were even signs explicitly telling people not to feed them 😭
I watch this video to remember my old Pigeon. He died a couple weeks back. Some stray cats somehow managed to break into our house and they ate him on the spot. I remember crying while cleaning up the mess.
when i was little my uncle used to house a flock of pigeons in a coop on his rooftop and they loooooved being pet. they were so sweet. i love looking out my window and seeing the pigeons sitting on the neighbour's roof.
Yes, except when 2 or more (as they pair up with mates) start hanging out on your apartment balcony, railing or even on any furniture nooks you may gave set up on your balcony. Deal with all the many dirty surprises they leave behind, and not many of these commenters would be so glowing in their comments.
@@remyb8887 I experienced a bird pooping on me before, I've also had people threaten to assault me on a bus for opening a window. I like Animals more than people.
Pidgeons are smart, good and lovely birds ❤ All city pidgeons have ancestors in very important message carrying birds who helped people. My two pet pidgeons are loving and funny persons ❤❤❤ Bless all the pidgeons and people who feed and help them❣️
OK, this is so wholesome that it changed my view of these birds. People take more and more land from nature and then complain that there are animals that at least adapted to survival with us... Thx for posting
Fun fact about pigeons, they were bred and domesticated by humans as pets and message carriers a while back, since they have lost their use they have been left to their own devices, this is partly why you see them flocking in major cities for food from us
pigeons just peck at random leftover food and seeds. rats will actively destroy chicken nests and actually try to break into your home, even if it's from the toilet. comparison is a bit unfair IMO.
I love the way the council put spikes up in our town to deter pidgeons from perching, and a year later, the pidgeons were building nests in them. They just don't give a toss. Theyre great!😂
