Found a pigeon yesterday know very little about them, I say very little but my grandfather was a pigeon man. The pigeon I found has a broken wing and I'm wondering if the pigeon is mendable or would it be more humane to put it down?
G'day from Melbourne Mate I am more of Donek pigeons Man, not sure if you've ever heard about them or not But I recommend them very much to anyone that's interested in pigeons But I love the racing pigeons as well, they are an incredible breed I commend you for the you care for your bird's And I must say I get enormous enjoyment from watching your RU-vid video Well done
Cool video, we have about 24 pigeons that I feed wild bird food, I don't think they get full from it, thier always hungry, I wish I had a place so I can have birds like your doing, good job !!!❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍

@@eddaniels2056 the pigeon’s wing can be fixed, but there’s only a 50% chance. On Pet-finder or other adoption services, you can give away the pigeon to somebody willing to take care of it. If there’s blood, plz first disinfect the wound. Otherwise you could keep it as a pet, perhaps somewhat in a chicken coop, or as a house pet, if it can fly, you may release it exactly where it was found. I’d recommend not euthanizing it because it is not in full pain and about to die, so it’s best to give it a second chance in life.
If you get them young and spend time with them, then they will get used to you. You can even try feeding them out of your hands every now and then, and they won't fear you.
I was just wondering if you might use that Virkon S, with other poultry? Video's not long enough Maney Lofts.....I learn so much from you and love your birds, I could watch them flying like that for some time. It makes me feel nice and peaceful indeed. Thank you, and God's Blessings to you.
I'm totally puzzled. I found a pigeon in the garden and brought it in because it couldn't fly. It's been with me 3-4 weeks now, it's been seen by the vet who said it's very healthy, but every time it tries to take off it does a sort of somersault. It's actually perched next to me now watching this.

@@eddaniels2056 It's more than likely mendable. You need to find someone who knows what they're doing and who can set the wing ( sometimes they strap it up) but finding someone to do it isn't easy sometimes as Pigeons are seen as vermin by a lot of people. If you do want to look after it try contacting Pigeon enthusiasts for advice and you can also try some vets you might find one who'll help.
@@montygemma Thanks very much for your reply. I do lack knowledge on pigeons but I know the pigeon isn't mortally wounded, I brought it to a vet and they said its wing is broken and has been for some time and I knocked into a house I know someone that I know, but he was at a funeral that day. I don't necessarily want to knock back in today because it was his brother. It's tagged and everything and gave the number to the vet but they couldn't locate the owner. I was thinking about making some sort of harness to try and let him mossy about a bit. My grandfather was just old school and would've rang its neck, I don't know if most are like that.
I have a pigeon that always fights with the other birds sometimes the others cant even eat properly...what can I do in this situation...because my other pigeons dont est healthy and they always get hurt in the process
Like we would throw food they will no get it. We see them all sitting on rooth tops. And waiting. Is like the king of the pigeons. Need to eat it first then allow the rest to eat.. But you get 1 or 2 walk up to it take a bite then Walk Back fast.. Few minutes ago. I seen a pigeon fly take a bit a other pigeon came And the pigeon just started chasing the other one.
I’ve used the Virkon in the drinking water, an it is magic imo, I’m gunna try your way in spraying the loft, should jump over an check out my channel mate,
