Yum! My whole family is from Chicago and we live in California now I would love to make these. Can you please share the links to this for peppers and also what type of hotdogs do you used?
I say it's the best too! I now live on the west coast & a friend sent me a Chicago hotdog kit. I have those sport peppers left over & now I know what to do with them 😋
1 second into the video and Im like *"Ok what are we getting into? Little twisted tartlets, savory pastry bites, palmiers?"* Pigs in a blanket is more than I could have asked for, they came out so pretty!
@@DarthFuriethen you’re doing it wrong. Pigs in a blanket is a sausage wrapped in bacon. Sausage wrapped in pastry is just a sausage roll, which we also have in the uk. Everyone in the UK has pigs in a blanket with Christmas dinner, it’s a holiday staple
@@LouLou10000Granted, it was invented by Germans as sausages wrapped in bacon, but the American way still makes sense, as it’s a sausage in a wrapping of some kind 😅 Except this particular video, which should’ve been “Cows in a Blanket” as she said “all beef hotdog”.
@@LouLou10000do u use the whole length of bacon? Do u fry the bacon for a bit first? Does the bacon get crispy wrapped up on the sausage in the oven? Sorry, I'm just wondering, I'd really like to make them. 😊
Omg you just gave me idea to do a Chicago dog inspired charcuterie board. Hoping I can find the green relish in pickle slices. Literally going to pig out.
Yes, but come on. Yanks ruin everything, just look what they're doing to the English language. It's branched off so far now that we have simplified English for the Yanks, and traditional English for the whole rest of the world.
That’s so weird to hear that people have to get those online. I am from Chicago suburb we just don’t have any trouble buying those. It’s hard to imagine that they aren’t in your average grocery store nationwide.
In the UK, minus the pepper , that's like a sausage roll. Though they use actual sausage meat wrapped in pastry instead of hot dogs. Pigs in Blackets, in the UK, is a sausage wrapped in bacon
This looks great! Not from the area, but I do love and enjoy this hot dog combo 👌🫶😂 I know people who wouldn't like it, but I do. I love pickles and onions ❤
Interesting… When I saw the title “pigs in a blanket” i I expected to see ground meat mixed with rice wrapped in cabbage. It’s another name for cabbage rolls in my part of the US lol
These look good but pigs in a blanket always seem like one of those things that don’t need elevation. The best ones to me are cheap canned biscuits with little smokies sausages lol. The more you elevate them, the more they become something entirely different.
Thats a British sausage roll. However we have real sausage, not mechanically reclaimed sausage like that. Pigs in blankets are mini (proper) coctail sausages wrapped in streaky bacon.
