Nasty brittle sound. Optical compressors suck definition out of low mid range. This will lead to smoother note to note transition but also to a more trivial sounding tone. The guitar is still defined as percussive instrument which requires full sounding transient attacks to be heard

I'd enjoy hearing less yack, more A:B comparison. I judge a pedal by how it SOUNDS, not by how someone else verbally describes what he thinks he hears. Play a few seconds, stomp the box, play the same thing for a few seconds. Like magic, we get to hear A and then B. When you're all done with that you can yack all you want. Then if there's anyone who doesn't trust their own ears, they can rely on the ears of a total stranger. Thanks - Lumpy
