Hi James, yeah it's great fun trying something new. The fish in this loch don't seem to mind it - I might need to put that to the test though, later this year! Fish one alongside a bait with zero elastic and see how they compare!

Thanks for the kind words. The average stamp was somewhat disappointing on this session. Our latest session produced some better fish. This place is well worth the cost of the annual permit - its a bit unfortunate that it is the only option at the moment! All the very best for 2024. I hope it is fish filled and fruitful for you. Hi Frank, thanks for the kind words! Rather than aiding presentation, the reason we do this is so that the pop ups are clear of the bait to avoid missing any fish. We have found in the past that sometimes having a pop up at the head or tail of the bait can lead to the odd missed fish due to the pop up getting in the way. The way we have them rigged, the pop up stands proud a few inches away from the bait. I'll get an underwater video the next time I'm out to show you.

@thenorseangler would positioning the pop up where u have it, actually result in the bait itself being risen off the deck, even a bit?
