Excellent dead bait video. Enjoyed how you showed your entire setup, the precise placement of your cast, the strike, and how to make a successful release. Absolutely great
this geezer is an absolute legend brilliantly informative and caring about his sport but with an uncle like mr wilson he has been taught by the best :) still a brilliiant angler in his own right !!!!
awesome video! I love how you explain the mesh glove, then proceed to nearly stick your exposed hand into the mouth :D. But yeah great video explaining everything you do and why. lovely fish!
Martin that was a great production, would of liked to see the rig in more detail but besides that I found it very educational, thanks for taking the time to film and post, CavemanDom
Such a shame that pike fishing is so underrated in the UK in comparison to carp. In my opinion, lure fishing for pike is the ultimate (fishing) kick just because of the split second striking force of Mr Esox. It can literally come out from nowhere :))....
Good advert for how to to enjoy pike fishing, but most important, having the correct gear (long disgorger etc) enabling you to release the fish quickly good man-good video
@bigglego its for fun, so the fish can carry on with its life, and so other anglers may hav the chance to catch aswel, it also helps with fish stocking, but if there is too many pike, or if theyr growing too big, ther wil have to be some removed, to keep other stocks of fish ballanced.
Quite a lot of chub and barbel, roach, dace, bream, tench, eels, perch and lets not forget rudd grayling and zander. Yes many puffs of blood. But without pike something else could arrive and kill them all. Long live old pike fishing.
@SirLucastv thx so much, as generally my comments on Utube on fishing, especially sea-fishing, are not well received! -your motto is excellent, and all aspiring young anglers should take notice of that principle
heeh you can only put a baitrunner on if the reel is made by Shimano naughty, otherwise it is "free spool" for any other brand. Im bored, sorry lol was a great watch again though! Although i saw this years ago as well.
@UberRuler for me the best place for pike is up north in huntsville fishing in lake peninsula or lake vernon using a jitterbug or a ripplin redfin fish of a dock and slow down when the luer gets to the dock cause thats where they hit 95% of the time good luck
Yeah use barbless trebles or have one hook on the treble semi barbed (that one goes into your dead bait).. Or use fully barbless treblkes and tie your bait on altho you must ensure no snappage if you are tying things to traces.
Nice fish mate well done. Some very childish comments below As for any Polish fishing on my clubs banks you will be asked why you there? where is your club book? and License? if non are shown you will get a right hook and get pushed in.
can you help me please . i have trouble with keeping the treble hooks in place and when i do eventually get them in it doesnt seem to stay hooked . can you help please ?
Do you use wobbled deadbait and lure tactics aswell? I normally fish legered or freelined static deads using 2.75lb tc carp rods but I like the idea of roving for a change rather than just waiting and hoping a fish will find my bait. I've ordered an 8ft esox spinflex rod and I've put a load of sprats in my freezer for wobbling tactics. Is braid a good choice for this? Reel is a 5000 baitrunner (with 12lb mono already on it). The river is in flood now so I should probably go and try for a barbel!
very good job. congratulations can you give more information about the rod and the reel please? what are the length, action and line-lure weight etc ??
magnificent fish....which begs a question as to why you would use an oily sea fish as bait, like makerel, and multiple hooks...hardly seems fair and just. personally i would like to see the focus on understandign the fish rather than the self gratification of snaring it using bomb proof methods. what is the point? long live the pike..
