Pikmin 2 HD (Switch) - Fails & Glitches Compilation 

I think I will do these every once per week or so since I notice you all really do enjoy these sort of videos! The cave videos might slow down because of it but hey, I also enjoying these as well. Might do them for Pikmin 3. But that game is already been out for the switch a few years already so might do them for Pikmin 4 demo instead and even when the game gets released!

Pikmin 2, the game where you can’t technically lose, so it breaks your spirit instead

I love how the majority of these clips aren't even glitches. Just bad luck, bad Pikmin AI, people learning basic mechanics, or new players experiencing the "wonders" of Pikmin 2 for the first time. This is how it felt to play this game for the first time, I fell into most of the traps shown in the video.

Okay the double mitite bomb combo had me cackling

seeing people who didn’t know the empress crushed pikmin, were generally inexperienced with some of the game’s enemies or had bad rng made me go “oh, you sweet summer child.” then olimar casually gets dropped into the void and fades in and out of reality

I missed this game so much and I'm so glad new players get to experience the horrors of the Frontier Cavern and the Submerged Castle blind

Never trust a treasure in a deadend, especially in later dungeons. Assume it's loaded, and take one white with you, as some traps don't spring unless you have pikmin with you. Defuse a floor before you sweep it

Not only have I never seen the Waterwraith drop on the player during its first appearance before, but I have NEVER seen what happens at 3:00 happen before.

As if I wasn't scared of the water wraith enough already, I definitely didn't need to know he could spawn on top of you.

YOUVE GIVEN ME A NEW FOUND FEAR, the pikmin hitting the electric during treasure scenes is mortifying, plus the water wraith dropping ontop of hundreds of them, insta resets for sure lol

I felt like I didn’t understand most of these bomb rock fails, but then I realized probably not everyone babysits their pikmin at the mere sight of bomb rocks like I do 😂

I also got the weird physics when throwing Pikmin sometimes, wonder what causes it. The one where they just fly forward until they hit a wall.

I love how these kinds of clips are more common now that Pikmin 2 is on a console with clips and clip sharing. I still love this game to death but man it can be incredibly unfair to the player in the funniest of ways sometimes. Also seeing new players trying to learn this game is comedy gold

I have to agree at 5:34 , especially in caves where stuff can appear even after you think you've clear the floor for traps only for them to activate like 10 minutes later (Wogpole are scaring the hell out of me in Shower room at the moment)

3:55 pretty sure some bomb traps only activate if a pikmin is under them carrying something. They're the most evil shits, and they love putting those traps right above a diggable object. Always gotta babysit in Pikmin 2 lol.

Pikmin 2 makes me laugh with how much bs it can give you, especially watching new players .

2:55 this glitch is incredibly brutal if you arent careful. i lost like 6 white pikmin in the shower room cause they walked into water during the treasure cutscene. edit: actually this isnt the glitch im thinking of. occasionally instead of going to a nearby captain after collecting treasure, pikmin will run in the direction of where the treasure spawned in. edit 2: yeah there it is at 7:28

I understand that most of these mishaps were due to glitches or ppl just being new, but by God it hurt to watch anything w the Empress Bulblax

The pikmin soaring through the air is a new glitch for these ports, right? I've played a decent amount of Pikmin and I've never seen that on GCN or Wii. Yet it's in the ports of both games.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out what the hell the guy in the last clip had in mind sitting and watching his entire squad drown like that

Long time Pikmin fan here, I’ve been playing the switch versions recently. I’ve done everything outside of Wistful Wild and I’ve had 4 notable glitches/goofy moments. I had Frontier Cavern spawn a Bulbear and Bulbmin on top of me, I had the Water Wraith get stuck in my only path back to the ship on sublevel 4 so I had to sacrifice some Bulbmin to get the treasure past him. I had a floating Cannon Beetle catch me by surprise because he was so high only yellows could reach him, and of course, the classic Snitchbug flying over the void with 20 Pikmin on him, instead of just falling back over or shaking them off. There’s a reason the game saves after every sublevel. I’ll update if anything else happens in Wistful Wild.

When I saw the people losing pikmin to the empress, it hurt.

I hope and pray all of these people know you can just reset to retry sublevels in caves. Because some of these losses are PAINFUL to watch. In the end, its good ol' Pikmin 2 brand torture!

Little confused at how people can lose pikmin to the empress bulblax… Throw at face -> whistle off as shake anim starts -> back up while rolling -> repeat

Fact: when Pikmin are fleeing/panicking due to mitites they are immune to bomb rocks

There is a lot of timing and guidance involved in avoiding these things. Sometimes you may have no choice but to quickly swarm small enemies real quick. Get into the habit of calling pikmin back before they shake off and all shooter type enemies will always got straight for bit apart from a certain boss that isn’t too hard to avoid.

Huh. I thought the glitch at 2:10 where panicking pikmin are immune to explosions got fixed. Cool.

i love seeing new people experience the absolute fucking shitshow this game is. overall 9/10

The first empress bulblax clip wasn't even really a fail, lol. That person just doesn't know how to play the game, lol. Same with the second one. But at least they made an attempt (even if it was barely an attempt at all) to avoid its attack

I think the werid physics are caused by a fix, I heard that apparently there was a bug in the og releases where pikmin would sometimes get stuck under and randomly die on bridges, and by fixing it I guess they made more problems... oops

I love how after something insane happens they all just leave Olimar completely still, followed by a couple of twitches to the control stick. It's like "Uh... um... what?"

never never EVER trust eggs, behind walls in caves in pikmin 2. in fact....dont trust caves PERIOD! do what i do. scout every single crevice of each and every floor with a captain on hes own FIRST to activate ALL traps, and when you take down walls, call your pikmin back, open the egg with one captain, have the other captain keep the pikmin at the ready

And people still call Pikmin a “cozy” game.

One time I was in the subterranean complex and i threw a purple pikmin at a careening dirigibug, the bomb immdiately exploded and killed 90% of my pikmin

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I 100% completed both 1 and 2 on switch and didn't encounter a single bug or glitch.
