Ah, I Remember The Hole Of Heroes. And how i made it out alive with 1 DANG PIKMIN FOR THREE SUB-LEVELS (And Returned Afterwards). I Called The Blue Flower Pikmin, Hero.
This level really reveals the weakness of the Wii controls. The number of times I’ve had to restart because I threw my Pikmin over a ledge or into the water is astonishing. Without the lock on feature of 3/4 it’s just too easy to lose track of the cursor.
This right here is why Pikmin 2 was the GOAT back in the day. This dungeon really has you show your mastery of Pikmin with all types and planning. Pikmin 1and 3 were not even 1/10 as hard. Now with Pikmin 4 we have Oatchi so you can make the argument that Pikmin 2 is still the GOAT because Oatchi breaks the game balance.
if you've read olimar's notes about the empress bulblax, you will know about its swelled egg sac, so the bulborb larvae probably looks like something equivalent to a cement mixer when she rolls around
Man I really miss this game I hope Pikmin 4 is in the same style as 2. Going around and collecting treasure, not needing to worry about a time limit. Enjoying all the caves and the music.
That jumping Snagret is so difficult to defeat especially when there’s quicksand. You could feed him white Pikmin, but you’d lose some required Pikmin in your squad. His brother is easy because he stays in the ground.
Holy hell. On 29th April this year, this game will be 17 years old🙁 I remember one day when i spawned on sublevel 9 the Bulbear just literally appeared right behind me. My response "Great layout miyamoto
@@OfficialLime35 yeah. I just reset coz I just thought "nah no way am I starting that floor with a layout like that. A bulbear spawning right next to me"
As soon as I got to the floor with the red flowers I knew something had to be going down on the next level. Thankfully I watched this and learned I could afford to trade yellows for red to fight fiery bulblax, and needed blues for machine gun spider. Since I had some fatalities the game gave me the bublax Pikmin which were useful for everything including the poison traps. I sacrificed my whites on the snagaret.
My point is this cave was epic. I'll admit I hit reset a couple times on the GameCube to get a mulligan on a multiple floors. My most fatalities were from the worms that launch homing rocks.
26:52 Good thing you acted quickly cuz that black bulborb can climb over the gate like it did for me. i had to restart because he came out of nowhere. Im pretty sure you can petrify Man at Legs at 37:15. Not positive but highly.
Sublevel 4 is the challenge to beat for any no-death runs. I’m playing on the Wii version, and I cannot believe that I beat it on the first try in my current playthrough. Maybe because the Pileated Snagret finally learned how to come out of the ground on his fifth go, but by then, it was too late for him. Oh, and I killed the Burrowing Snagret, too.
I had the funniest thing happen to me the other day. On sublevel 3, as it loaded in, the Marble spawned right next to me as well as the exit behind a gate wall. So I completed the floor in like 15- 20 seconds lol.
Sublevel 11 in a shellnut: 31:58 Start 32:04 It's the Pinky Ponk! 32:13 The Pinky Ponk must DIE! 32:21 Zeppelin bombing raids. 32:50 Ra-ra-rasbulborb, Russia's greatest sliding machine! 33:52 Hindenborger. 33:55 Yeetus Yeetus Feetus Deleetus. 34:14 Stealing a stone from Thanos. 34:36 Goodbye my honey, goodbye my baby, goodbye my ragtime gal!
Cavern of Chaos and Hole of Heroes are my favorite caverns located in the Wistful Wild. Dream Den is full of shit and I’ll never explore this cavern forever and even before I die.
Hawelo92 I wasn't aware of that. Also, I would like to thank you for creating these walkthroughs. I've watched plenty of Pikmin 2 playthroughs, including Chuggaaconroy, Dazz, and SlimKirby, but yours has been the most helpful by far. You taught me several crucial tips & tricks for dungeons. I can't tell you how grateful I am for these videos.
I know this was three years ago but there's a glitch where if you push a captain into a spicy or bitter Nectar and then move the captain your controlling in to the Nectar then you will both pick it up at the same time giving you 2 instead of just one
I know this is so late but Im playing Pikmin 2, its a 100% run. Im about to enter lol, I just miss Dream Den and Cavern of Chaos after this. Im kinda scared shitless lol. The most Pikmin Ive lost in a cave were 6
Easy way to do the level. Go straight to breaking down the wall right where you spawn, dismiss your pikmin in there, go as 1 captain and use the Decorated Cannon Beetles (cause they're boulder follows you) to hit the others. Once there's only 1 or two left and if they're not even near you, get the pikmin and bring the boss towards the ship and (like this video) have 1 captain behind him with the pikmin and the other cap inside the gate area so he/you can't get damaged and keep switching.
only 14 more days yall for new-found pain, suffering and torture now in HD.. or will it just be a cakewalk..with hotcake support wheels on the side... (hope not)
@@Hawlo There is a glitch to get 101-1000 pikmin deaths in one run of a cave, but that is probably not the case. Maybe it was just bringing 100 pikmin, having 20+ die, then reaching the queen candypop buds and using them, then having all total pikmin die.
I got lucky with sub level 9 , the fiery one with the treasure spawned in the spawn room with a few bulborbs. I wasnt lucky with the fact that the exit was guarded by EVERYTHING ELSE.
I have to ask, why convert the Bulbmin into Pikmin? I mean, sure, you get to keep the Pikmin, but what seasoned player needs Red Pikmin? The Bulbmin are better for caves like this because they're immune to ALL hazards where a normal Pikmin is immune to just one. Bulbmin can swim, ignore fire, electricity, and poison. So why did you convert them?
thier scales also reflect pikmin off so the have to be hit in the head. they are also too tall for the most part for you to hit so you have to hit them mid attack or when they get stuck.
It turns enemies into stone. If you beat an enemy while it's petrified, it will drop nectar and possibly more sprays. Some enemies get increased defense when you petrify them, though, like bosses.
It's been years but you could've said something like "hey, make sure to have enough blue pikmin!" on floor 12 because now I'm doing the Man-At-Legs fight on floor 13 and I'm fucked.
@@Hawlo I got it, I had a few sprays to spare, but I literally only had 4 blue Pikmin and 6 Bulbmin, but I luckily managed to pull it off with minimal loss. I used your godstrat of hiding behind the barrier but I had to be a little finicky with it or less it would still hit me; that or it would untarget me and start firing at my other Pikmin. I also cannot stress enough how helpful your guides are, sorry if it seemed like I was undermining your hard work, your guides are incredible.
For the fastest way to kill RLL Get purples & Reds with Red potion, wait till he's leaning towards the ground the seconds time then throw, coz that way he'll stomp around slowly again while getting attacked and you'll do like half his health bar
Yesterday, I lost a perfect record. I have never let a Spotty Bulbear or Gatling Groink come back to life. So here is the story. It was a Spotty Bulbear in Hole of Heroes, Sublevel 9. I lured the Spotty Bulbear into the sink to kill him with no losses. Unfortunately, the quickest path to the ship was blocked by the Fiery Bulblax, and Pikmin don’t care if enemies block the way. As I was also doing a no-reds challenge, I let the Bulbear come back to life and had Olimar lure him into the sink distract him while the President punches the Bulblax to death before bringing the rest of my Pikmin to kill the Bulbear again and carry him back. There was one instance years ago, where I killed the Gatling Groink in the Wistful Wild by the bridge, and there wasn’t enough time before the Groink came back, so I restarted the day. The Blue Pikmin wouldn’t carry him through the water.
