Just a heads up on bases and military installations you cannot plant flowers. For anyone wondering. Go off base and plant them, there will for some reason still be large flowers at landmarks with no way to sprout however
I'm trying to get 2 Star ratings in challenges to level up. I sent all yellow Pikmin (most with decor) to a yellow mushroom, still only got 1 star with 24 Pikmin attacking. Any ideas?
Wow this was helpful. So which pikmin do the best for going and getting things? The white and pink are the fasted? What do the purple and rock pikmin do?
Is there anything to do with friends, except from sending them postcards? Its not like I can invite a buddy to join a mushroom battle I am in at that moment. And there is nobody near me in my area playing this game at the same moment to join a mushroom battle. I hope they will expand some features in the future.
Pick up ones that are from locations you haven’t been before. For example, if you have 10 red Pikmin from a park and 1 red Pikmin from a cafe, you might as well release 9 of your park ones so you don’t keep piling up duplicate decor Pikmin. That’s only if you’re a collector and nothing more, I quite like having an army of yellow chef Pikmin 😂
So what if it isn't Pikmin 4. So what if it resembles Pokemon. Why reinvent the wheel. If they had taken spots that Pokemon made as Gyms and put them as Mushrooms, It saved them time and money. It's a great game with a lot of potential. Just don't play it! You don't need to trash it.
There is an orange number that tells the damage. Just experiment a little, and you figure out which Pikmin do more damage. Also, Pikmin with 4 friendship points do WAY more damage.
You can also throw Pikmin when you do a swipe gesture on them. Helpful when you want to give a single Pikmin nectar. ALSO with white nectar, Pikmin will first get a bud. When you give them another nectar, you will get 2 flowers of that type, instead of just one. So if you have a rare nectar type, first make your Pikmin to bud Pikmin and then give them the rare nectar. You will get the double amount of flowers for that nectar type.
Faster nectar tip was the most useful. Regarding mushrooms here are what defines strength- 1) Higher pikmin frienship level, using the same color pikmin (or if you don't have enough, use purple one), pikmin with decoration deal more damage. Pikmin with flowers deal more damage and pikmin with pansy deal extra damage. I personally want to collect all decors so I collect a lot of seedlings and discard the ones that come from places where I have full collection, like Roadside or waterside.
I just started playing in Tokyo. This is sooooo helpful. The inefficiency of aspects is annoying. I'm glad I could get these tricks and tips to ease that part!
If you need a certain color flower for example yellow. give a white nectar to a leaf pikmin and it will grow a bulb, then give it a yellow nectar to get 2x yellow flowers. Basically you trade 1x white and 1x yellow nectar for 2x yellow flowers. I have found this very useful when needing to plant a zillion yellow flowers but am out of them and very low on yellow nectar.

May I ask where you got your pikmin toys on the shelf in the background? Me and my son love Pikmin and he's been wanting pikmin toys for Christmas but I'm not having much luck finding any. And are the larger ones soft plush pikmin?
I haven't figured out the big flowers yet, but it definitely has to do with a ratio I suspect. Seems like normal flower color counts as 1 color point, and special flowers giving 2 points. White flowers are a neutral addition but you can make white flowers if you trample over all the other colors.
Some bonus tips You can't collect pansy (and other special petals) if the normal varient of the petal colour is full. You can swipe to collect petals, as said by xtrafe

are grow tanks in the full game or were they just in the beta? i havent come actoss them yet. not even in the shop. Ive only started playing a week ago so if i remember correctly I think Im level 12.
