Today is the feast of our father among the saints, Patrick, enlightener of Ireland. So, I decided to revisit this video. Also, my great-grandma Elsie Conner was of Irish descent, so little as it may be, I always enjoy the thought that I have some connection to that beautiful land and people. Thank you for your efforts in putting this together!

For any future visitors - I live in Ireland. Our Lady wearing a crown, Joseph, St John (her adopted son), the Lamb on an altar, a cross and several angels appeared here in at a small church in Knock in 1879 to 15 people of all ages. The scene lasted around 2 hrs. It has only recently been realised that during this apparition a statue of Our Lady was being physically crowned at a Canonical Coronation in La Salette, France....where she had appeared 33 yrs previous. God Bless.

Im not sure how Orthodox Christians view Marian apparitions so I dont think they'd go to a place like Knock

They'd probably be fine if Mary appeared to them, but they most likely wouldn't go to Roman Catholic Shrines.

Brilliant! Years ago I was fascinated with ancient Ireland, both pagan and Christian. So I was not so shocked to find the Breastplate of Saint Patrick (the Lorica) in my Ancient Faith Prayer Book. But I more frequently read the excerpts from Prayers By The Lake by Saint Nikolai Velimirovic.

Me and my wife we went in Ireland for our honeymoon,when we were still Roman Catholic. Now i am Orthodox and she is still Roman Catholic,but i hope that one day she will follow me. Anyway,we will return in Eire again...

Wagon Wheel Go seek a good book of History of the Church,of Theology of Orthodoxy and then come back home...we do not have nothing in common with islam...islam's isa is a prophet,Our Lord Jesus Christ is God. Only this is enough to prove your statement false. Come back to Orthodoxy brother!

Oh yes and I have a particular fondness for Columkille (Saint Columba). I named my youngest son Rory (Ruadhraigh), but in retrospect I think maybe I should've named him Kevin. (I don't recall the Irish spelling.)

Oops! I meant to write "my only son Rory." Why did I choose the word "youngest" instead? Probably because he has three older half-sisters who love him and care for him. It's a long, complicated story, but I am away from those children and do not know when I will see Rory again. And he has autism. Pray for him, and pray for me as I recover in this hospital, among others. I am a wretched sinner and have yet to be baptized. But God is the 'philanthropos'. Glory to Him - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

I would love to come back! In fact, I hope to build this channel in a way that lets me come back and cover more Orthodoxy in Ireland for the building up of the faithful! Where are you about in Ireland?

@@Theoria It really would! I am praying for a revival of our old Orthodox tradition, which came from St James and John and the Egyptian monastics via St Martin of Tours in whose monastery our early saints trained. It resisted Romanisation for a couple of centuries after the schism. Obviously that chain is broken but the Greeks, Russians, Romanians, and Georgians (forgive me if I've left any out) are all here so if the native population grows enough then I'm interested to see what might happen.
