As a Malaysian, the first time i saw Ms Pilita Corrales was in the movie “Bride for Rent”. She has a style of the classy, rich extravagant women like in mexican telenovela. At first glance, you already know she’s a classy woman. Then i do some research about this lady, turn out she’s really a diva, queen, beauty queen, and “Cariñosa” is my favourite classic filipino song… ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She is a Filipina because she was born in the Philippine islands in 1937, and was raised and lived all her life in the Philippines. Her Father is a Filipino-Spanish whilst her mother is a Spaniard.
And what does a Filipina look like? Filipinas comes in all shades and features.. some look more Malay, some more Chinese and some more European. Filipina is a bracket term for all the Citizens of the Islands and has nothing to do with one’s ethnicity

Yeah, Pilita is the Asia's Queen of Songs, & she's still is! Love her Filipino & Spanish songs 🎵! Was able to watch her @ the Araneta Coliseum, when she guested as a surprise to me, @ Jack Jone's concert wayback then! She was admirable then, even up to now, w/ her rendition of Kapantay at Langit w/ her unique body motion of bending up her back while singing! In Tagalog "Nakaliyad"! Admirable! Pati si Elizabeth Ramsey, ginagaya sya, w/c was very funny, & so w/ both of their Visayan language & accent! Those were the days then!

She is the first Filipino Pop artist to win internationally, when she won the first Tokyo Music Festival, beating the late Olivia Newton John and many other international singers, long before the great champions like Regine, Ivy Violan and Dulce made Pinoys proud. She is so lovable, fun, and a natural crowd-drawer. I've had the fortune of meeting her twice, and ganyan talaga yan siya in person the way you see her on cam. Kahit hindi mo sya kakilala, pag andun ka sa room kung saan nagkukwento siya, kahit nasa gilid ka lang, huhulihin niya yung mata mo, tapos pati ikaw kinikwentuhan na niya, at mahu hook ka nang makinig sa kwento nya. Life of the party, center of attraction energy sya. Kikay, and at the same time, such a fine, classy lady. Nakakatuwa, nakakatawa, nakaka entertain, nakaka disarm, nakaka GV, without even trying. Living legend sya talaga, and she deserves all the accolades and tributes that she's being given.
